Hi folks. On a whim, I picked up an NIB Win 94 in .357/38 at a local gunshow today. Has 20" bbl. and the new tang safety. Got it for $395 out the door. Seemed like an average price I guess, comparing to what other dealers were asking for similar specimens. How do you think I did?

Hi folks. I thought I'd share my good experience with this rifle so far. The rifle in question is a Ruger model 77 "ultralite" chambered in the 7.62x39 Soviet round, synthetic stock with blued barrel.
I bought this rifle more as a novelty, liking the idea that I could use cheap ammo, and...
Hi folks. I found a CZ-40P at a gunshow for $299.00 plus tax. Seems like a quality weapon at a good price. I know CZ's reputation so I expect it was money well spent. But I have a few questions:
1. I know the CZ-40B is no longer produced. Is the CZ-40P the current production model. It...
Hi folks. I thought I'd request a little advice on an upcoming purchase. I'm going to buy a bolt-action rifle for shooting targets and groundhogs out to 200 yards, probably no more. I'd like to get it in 223 Rem. because I think that would suit my intended purposes nicely, and I have 2 other...
Anyone have info about how well the Makarov did in combat service with the commies? You hear a lot of legend and lore about the 1911 in combat. Do the reds have the same mystical affection for their Maks?
A related question - does anyone feel that the Mak is a viable main defense weapon for...
Looks pretty good. It is good to see Ruger doing further development in the P-series. I've always liked them.
The only thing I could do without in this new model is the magazine disconnect. Blah!
Hey Arc Angel - yeah, Pittsburgh is a nice town. I've lived here all my life. I was not at the Glock shoot but I know that GPGC is a nice club. I belong to the Clairton Sportsman's Club a little south of the city. I'll check into the 22-250. Thanks for the tip.
Huck - Not sure of the...
What caliber will give the best long-distance accuracy with a flat trajectory, out to 300 yards or more? I'm thinking varmint caliber, not looking for a monster magnum .30 caliber, just something to whack mid-sized critters at a fair distance. Is .223 or .243 the ticket, or is there something...
Hi folks. I'm looking for some opinions from rifle owners out there. I'm looking for a bolt-action .308 that is accurate out of the box. I am really hoping to stay in the $500-$600 range in price, but I do want accuracy. Application will be deer hunting in Pennsylvania woods, so my longest...
I have no experience with the Witness, but I have a Ruger P97 and love it. It has much better ergonomics than the P90, is very accurate and built like a brick house. Costs 319.00 and seems worth twice as much. Check it out.
My G27 has a lot of "flip" using the hotter loads with lighter bullets, like the 155 gr. Win Silvertip. I switched to 180 gr. Win Ranger and it is definitely more tame. Also the 180 gr. Rangers have performed well out of the G27 in testing. Try 'em out.
Ammo first---
The Ruger rep. told me that they slightly redesigned the camblock to provide more tension on the slide stop. So the fix applies to all P97's and they will send out the new parts for any older guns that may show this problem.
The slide stop on my P97 definitely takes some...
I have a few of the very same mags that do the very same thing! It must be something about the geometry of the magazine that leaves a few rounds loose even when the spring is fully compressed. Yeah, I scratched my head over this one too, but can't figure it out.
Anyway, the mags feed and...
My local Gander Mt. stocks the Blazer Brass at the same price as regular Blazer. I have used it in 45 ACP with good results. And it is reloadable. It's good stuff, and about as hot as regular Blazer.
