Shot Placement (Most Vital Spots Ranked)

Trauma surgeons talk about penetrating trauma to “the box”—an area outlined on the front of the chest by the nipple line, the clavicles, and the lower edge of the rib cage. This is where the heart and great vessels reside and where penetrating trauma has a higher chance of being lethal (or for...

    New Model Blackhawk Grips

I installed these grips recently on the exact same revolver it sounds like you have (recent-production .45 Colt/.45 ACP convertible Blackhawk) and they fit perfectly.

    454 / Judge Magnum Questions

Why would you consider it to be remotely a good home defense weapon? Would you consider a .410 shotgun to be a good HD weapon? The .45 Colt/.410 revolvers have all the disadvantages of a .410 (mainly poor payload) without the advantages of a long arm. The slugs have about the energy of a .380...

    Vermont. . . Michigan. . . Wisconsin Updates . . . . FBI Background Checks

DC tried that approach after the Heller decision. The courts didn’t let them get away with it.

RM 380 vs other pocket 380s

I picked one up cheap about a year back. I haven’t shot it extensively, but in probably 250 rounds I haven’t had any stoppages, either with FMJ or Hornady XTP. The only way I’ve carried it is in a coat pocket, so I can’t really speak as to printing. However, it is significantly thicker than my...

    state preemption question.

Most preemption statutes include an exception allowing municipalities to regulate discharge of firearms. Alaska is no different.

    Suppressors out of the NFA

Yes, they should. Ideally, completely deregulate. Practically--regulate them the same as any Title I firearm.

If you could eradicate feral hogs tomorrow...

Yeah, this. Here is a map of their worldwide range--they can definitely survive in the northern US.

No charges in Chicago CCW shooting

First shooting by an Illinois CCW holder I've heard of, and in Chicago no less. Nobody injured, and no charges to be filed against the CCW holder--best possible outcome I can think of.

Does a CCW require a specific gun to be listed?

Texas law requires you qualify in class with a centerfire of .32 caliber or greater. Once you have a CHL, you can carry any handgun you wish.

    antique?

Uberti has had a repro of the 1860 Henry for quite a while--it's a Title 1 firearm. Same with the numerous other reproductions of firearms designed in the early cartridge era. The relevant federal law is 18 USC Section 921: All the C&B revolvers fall under (B)(i) and (C). With the variety of...

Toomey Folds - Joins Schumer, Manchin and Kirk on UBC Compromise

Unfortunately that's highly unlikely. I'd be surprised if it even made it to SCOTUS. Any such ruling would likely necessitate overturning Gonzales v. Raich, and as much as I'd like that I don't foresee that happening. This has to be defeated legislatively.
