I have a 70's era P14 45 LDA that runs like a scalded dog!! Excellent trigger and eats everything I've run through it. Look for an earlier Canadian pistol. Stay away from new ones!!

I have a Ruger American in .308 and love it!! It is a 1 MOA rifle shooting German DAG/MEN! Have yet to shoot Federal GMM to see how it does with some quallity ammo!! fit and finish is excellent! I topped it with a Nikon 3x9x40.
If you think about it, it doesn't make any difference! From mag or inserted into chamber, the extractor doesn't snap over the cartridge rim until the bolt is closed!
I installed the Bushmaster Gas Piston kit into my M4A3 and love it. No problems at all. Runs super clean, works as advertised! Thing I like the best is it don't throw brass into the next county now!! Also, seems like the cyclic rate is slowed somewhat. I'm happy with it!!:)
I have one of the "New" Springfield Armory M1's in .308. That puppy is a pure pleasure to shoot. Weight?? Makes for a very stable platform!! The best battle sights ever!! You will be amazed at how fast you can reload a Garand with practice. Buy lots of en block clips and go for it!!!

In my Marlin Guide gun and Browning 1885, the Hornady 300 Gr. is a bang/flop round for whitetail's! Never had to shoot one twice!! You do need to use loads that are suitable for your particular action type and strength. Can't stress that enough!!!!!
