Ruger P95 Bad range day... Just got it too =/

Do the extractor test mentioned above, then give Ruger a call. They have excellent customer service. My dad has a p95 with a feed throat machined off-center (FTF's every 3 rounds). Took it out, shot a picture and was ready to email it to ruger to see if they'd send me a replacement. Figured...

338 Federal in long action 700?

I don't think there'd be a problem...but it would seem like a .35 whelen would be a better "fit" for that action. If you're going to have the extra length...may as well have the extra "umph".

Ruger P95 Bad range day... Just got it too =/

If it's leaving the case in the chamber my money's on either a broken extractor. It's about a 15 min. pop out & replace job, and I'd be willing to bet that ruger'd send you a replacement for free if you tell them what the problem is.

    Dressing around the gun

I don't like golf...but I love the "new" synthetic golf polos. They're classy, cheap, don't wrinkle, cool in the Tx. summer, and are designed to be un-tucked. The material seems to drape well over a grip. I can actually carry an OWB holster under them.

Looking for unfinished rifle stocks.. Can someone help please?

Boyd's sells their stocks unfinished, but really, I'd recommend you take a swing at buying an older rifle and refinish the stock on it. To me, there's a tremendous amount of pride in taking something pretty much worn out and making it look better.

Remington 700 243 Youth for my Girls

I have the exact rifle that you're looking at with a Leupold Ultralight 2.5 x 20 scope. I use it as a knock-around rifle at the ranch. The shortness makes it easy to pop in and out of the truck. I think you'll find it'll work just fine for your kiddos. It 'feels' like the little barrel is...

    Ruger P85 Stainless

Do yourself a favor and order some Hogue wrap-around grips for it. Just about the only thing you can "upgrade" on one of these, but worth every penny.

Weight loss and CCW. Hmmmmm...... I didn't think of this.

Give the Crossbreed/Theis/Comp-tac minotaur spartan style hybird holster. If I had the "lack of padding" problem (which I don't) I think I'd try gluing a layer of something soft to the flat leather backing for a little extra comfort.

how much more does a m44 kick than a 91/30?

honestly, it's about the same. The extra weight of the permenantly attached bayonet makes up some of the weight difference.

Houston Range that allows full auto rifles

Theoretically you "could" shoot your M14 at Pasadena gun center (anything <.50 BMG is fine with them). However, I wouldn't recommend it. I've seen the target holders shot out twice (not by me) with the full auto AR that they rent. That M14's not going to be all that fun in there.

What do you want to see brought back?

Ditto on the Savage 99...Simple .308/7mm-08/.243...maybe even .338 federal if they're feeling really adventurous

Adjustable Butt Plate for youth rifle?

I bought a youth .243 700ADL with the synthetic stock as a knock-around gun for the ranch. It came with spacers to lenghten the LOP as time goes on if need be. I don't think it'd be too hard to fabricate a spacer to do the same thing from some kind of material.
