Nice video lubeck!!
I'm sorry I missed that match.
But, the December match is on Dec 9th at 10am (For the winter months, Dec, Jan, Feb, and Mar, we only do the match on the second sunday of the month)
I've been using a shooting chrony alpha master for three years, but it seems like it doesn't like to work when the weather starts to turn cold. Basically, once it's below 45 F or so the electronics get a little weird, sometimes it doesn't turn on. Tried new batteries but it doesn't seem to...
The Smith and Wesson Model 25 has been made for a while now (and still in the current catalog), but I don't know whether or not it goes back to pre-WWII.
S&W has also made a few mountain gun versions of the model 625 chambered in 45 LC. I don't think they're in the current catalog.
The...
Maybe before you start monkeying around with hammers and such you could remove the firing pin for safety?
There's no way to do that without removing the slide.
Exact same thing happened to me when I first started reloading.
I got the attention of a local gunsmith that happened to be at the range. He warned everyone that the gun was loaded, people stepped back, then he pointed it down against the edge of a heavy wooden workbench. Placing the edge...
cyclops, no doubt there's probably some A1s sitting around, but I'd be surprised if the number is huge. Most of the A2s were modded A1s and I thought I read somewhere that conversion parts kits actually outnumbered brand new A2s by a really wide margin.
Seems to me to be pretty situational.... I've lived in a small town in the southwest where open carry was legal, and practiced a lot. A lot of folks around there had honest to gawd reasons to carry that went beyond "protecting themselves from bad guys." I currently live in a small town in...
Seems to me like apples and oranges from a shooting point of view, if you're gonna draw and shoot from either condition then TRAINING is the variable, not the position of the controls between the mind and the trigger.
OTOH... the safety (or lack thereof) of placing the gun into condition 2...
I'd install the scope...
I got one of those a few weeks ago, by far the purtiest Ruger I've ever seen.
The v-notch rear sight bothered me and I didn't do very well with it. I replaced it with a notch. It's pretty good shooter but the grip doesn't quite fit my hand. My friends who...
"A SA first shot is faster that a DA from the holster…or High Ready
A SAO trigger stroke isn’t any faster to the first aimed shot. Between drawing from the holster and the first shot, there is more than enough time to stroke a DA trigger before you can extend the gun and acquire a sight...
Are you sure about what they were shooting at Bianchi Cup?
I thought Piatt, Koenig and Bork were all shooting 1911s in Open class, and I'm pretty sure Leatham was shooting a 1911 in Metallic Sight
turn the question around, if you do need it how badly will you you want it?
Look, carrying a gun is a gamble.... are you willing to bet your life that you won't need one, vs the weight, discomfort, and training required to carry one?
add the same question for a BUG
