    I don't *get* PCC rifles

Opinions vary on this one. Being a hunter first, setups like the Ruger PCC are nothing more than a range toy. The energy and range are dismal as there are better options. You might see a 200 fps advantage over a 9mm handgun. However, a carbine in .357 or .44 Mag really wakes up those cartridges...

Best way to clean a Marlin 1894?

Remove the lever, bolt and ejector and clean from the rear. Clean it like you would any other rifle. I like to use a bore guide as well. Possum Hollow bore guides work for me.

    Alliant 2400 in .357 Mag

The issue may have been the Handgun setting on the LabRadar as opposed to using the Rifle velocity setting. The instructions note: Select vel. range Select the velocity range for measurements by the LabRadar. Each velocity range is specified to weapons type as a reference: • Rifle (1600 fps to...

    Alliant 2400 in .357 Mag

I agree with your statement. I'm using a LabRadar set on the pistol velocity setting and using acoustic setting (i.e. not using my JKL trigger). Charges were weighed using a calibrated RCBS 505 scale.

    Alliant 2400 in .357 Mag

I recently decided to try some Alliant 2400 in .357 Mag. I'm loading for both a 4" revolver and a 16.5" Henry Big Boy Carbine. Upon trying my initial loads, I was surprised at a) the lack of velocity compared to others and b) the lower recommended loads as pet recipes people were using. With...

    Remington 380

Mine had issues new out of the box. The trigger when pulled back would slip while pulling the hammer back and would let the hammer fall prematurely causing it not to fire. It was sent back to Remington TWICE to address the issue. It was no more than a range toy after that. There was a video on...

    30-30 loads.

My most accurate loads in a JM Marlin 30-30 is a max load of IMR 3031 behind a 150 gr round nose. Also, a max load (per Hodgdon) of LeverEvolution behind a 160 FTX will cut holes. These are both hunting loads and not plinking loads. Work up to these as they are max.

    Considering a new action

It depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you're after smallest agg. groups, you probably need to consider the rifle type and the caliber. Shooting a benchrest rig is very different than varmint rig. If you're looking at an action, go all the way with the right stock, scope, trigger and...

    HS6 in 38/357 with 158 Grain Cast

For reference, I'm shooting Missouri 158 SWCs (18 BHN) w/ Hi-Tek coating out of a Taurus 66 4" in .357 Mag. With 8.5 gr of HS-6, I get 1,108 fps. With 9.4 gr, I get 1,241 fps. Both of those loads were my accuracy nodes.

    Ruger PCC FTE

This hasn't been my experience with my Ruger PCC. I run 124 gr RMR MPRs with 5.1 gr CFE Pistol. I have jams all the time. I don't seem to have the issue when I switch to a max load of HS-6.

LE Wilson Case trimmer with micrometer worth the money?

I started with one and it is a quality piece of gear. However, trimming is one of the messiest and most time consuming jobs by the time you trim, chamfer and debur. I wanted something faster and went with a Giraud. It would be interesting to see someone put a cutter on a Wilson that can cut...

    Anderson AM-15?

I haven't found anything wrong with it. Tuned loads shoot about 1" @ 100 yards. Trigger is gritty but that can be replaced.

Dillon Super Swager has worked well for me.

    Carry Safety

That lady will forever live with the notion that her judgement and decision-making caused her to lose a child. I don't wish that on anyone no matter how poor the judgement. No sentence imposed will be more the lesson than losing her child.
