Check out the thread on the KelTec owners group (you will need to sort through it a bit but there is some good data): http://www.thektog.org/forum/f85/reloads-chronographs-sub2k-231246/
I myself have found the best gains with blue dot and 124gr bullets at max loads. Heavier bullets seem to...
I'm curious how Walkalong's chrono data will look. Any Quickload info anyone? I'm guessing that you can stuff 7.8 grains under the 115 bullet and still be at safe operating pressures at 1.155"
I would give it a "shot." I have used N105 with 147 Grn bullets. I seemed to have a little bit of unburnt/partially burnt powder when using an open bolt/blow back carbine. So, I would advise using magnum primers.
Good thread. I've often wondered how potent a 9x19 Luger, out of a carbine, would be for light hunting (hogs and small deer).
I've tried different combos of loads through my carbine and have drawn the same conclusions that have been previously stated.
147gr bullets seem to "max" out at...
Yes, I do trim my 9mm Luger brass - only if it needs it. I use a Lyman E-Zee case gauge ( http://www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/case-prep/ezee-case-gauge.php ). It is cheap and quick to use. You can quickly sort hundreds of pieces of brass in no time.
If you load to max your brass will eventually...
My Loadmaster has made cartridges just like the ones illustrated. There is a new primer trough that is supposed to take care of the Loadmaster priming woes.
The only published 9mm Luger (158gr) data I've ever seen was from a Lyman manual (circa 1970).
I didn't have any of the powders listed, nor did I have the specific bullets the manual called for.
So, I worked up my own loads using Berry's plated DS 158gr RN (.357).
Note: I do use a...
The only "+p" 9mm Luger reloading data I have ever run across is the HOT VV 1st edition data. VV lists 36kpsi data that is loaded much hotter than their current data (which no longer has pressure information).

Not quite one of your options listed... But, check it out: http://wilsoncombat.com/new/762x40-project.asp
This round packs a little more punch than your 2 choices and brass can be produced from 5.56.
Go ahead and spend the cash now. You can learn on a progressive - just go slow. Read the manual for your press. Check out YOUTUBE. Get good loading data and don't be afraid to hit up the folks on this forum.
For the 9mm luger I have tried AA#9, VV3N37, VV3N38, & Blue Dot. I love Blue Dot in my KelTec sub2000 9mm carbine. Blue Dot is a slower powder that wrings out extra performance in a carbine. Blue Dot also performs well in my pistol. 8.5grns of Blue Dot (note: 8.2 is max per Lee 2nd edition)...
When my case feeder started "binding" I found that the issue was improper setup due to a loose locking nut. But hey after a few thousand rounds that stuff happens.
As far as the primers are concerned... I have had issues because I did not clean out the bazillion spent primers out of the ram...
MrOldLude - Lee 2nd Ed. lists 8.2gr Blue dot (1.150") as max w/29,900psi of pressure. I worked up to 8.5gr because that is what the power drop would replicate. I haven't had any issues. The same load yields >1300fps out of a glock 17 (21% velocity increase in the carbine)
SHR970 - I love...
I find the combo of 8.5gr of Blue Dot and 124gr FMJ RN (C.O.A.L. 1.150) produce high velocity (1580-1600fps) and pretty good accuracy. I don't have an AR platform so your "mileage" may vary.
