get a 1/4" bolt that's 3-4" long, use nuts on either side of 1/4" washer and you can get barrel nut off. curve of washer doesn't scratch crown of barrel. $2 in parts at walmart. no cuttin, no fabrication.

After reading countless forums/articles just on feeding/reliability with different loads, etc. I am a little hesitant to send off my Form 1 before I've got a solid gameplan. I'm wanting to chop the barrel just beyond the tube (~14") but I'm unsure of how reliable it will feed and what loads...

my buddy just recently bought an 870 and instead of the smooth, curved bolt that im used to seeing (and have on mine), it has a band cut out that is about 3/4" wide in the exposed portion of the bolt. does this serve any function, or is it some unnecessary design change?

it would be a neat toy, but i held one at a gun show that looked like a piece of sheet metal doomed for failure.
