Thanks for the advice Pro Gun. To me it's not so much a cost issue as it is that I'm a shameless do-it-yourselfer. I decided to give it a try and it actually worked out pretty well allthough I had to do a little modifying to it to get it to fit. The new Dawson sight was a little to tight. I...
Thanks Darin. Actually, weekends are usually ok but this weekend my Director of Social Activities (i.e. my wife) has a full schedule planed for me:)
I look forwar to shooting with you guys.
JB
Thanks for the invitation Darin. I've actually been planning on shooting with you guys some time soon. I was at the Elm Fork USPSA shoot last weekend (as a spectator). I don't think I'll be able to make it out this weekend (though I'll try) but I would like to come out and shoot soon. Looks...
Before I started reloading I put 2500 rounds of Wolf 45ACP through a Taurus PT945 and I had very good results. It was pretty dirty but nothing that a little extra cleaning won't fix.
I have a Springfield Trophy Match with factory target sights (Dovetailed). I just purchased a Dawson Precision Fiber Optic front sight and I'm looking for advice on installing it. Is this pretty straight forward to install myself or am I asking for trouble?
Thanks in advance for your...
Texas Pistol Academy
Does anyone know anything about the Texas Pistol Academy up in Whiteright? http://www.texaspistol.com/ I spoke to them yesterday and it sounds like they have a pretty nice facility. The problem is that it's a private facility and is pretty expensive to become a member...

Thanks for all of the advice everyone. I've never shot steel targets before. I'm planning to start shooting at a new pistol range that has steel targets and wanted to know if there were any safety concerns that I should be aware of. The range requires that you stay at least 10 yards away from...
I actually love the smell of Ol Number 9. It brings back memories of shooting as a young boy. I've been using that stuff for years.
With all this talk about #9, I think I'll go out to the garage and have a sniff.:what: I think I have a problem with this stuff:)
SWC
Hey Tuner. I was using the Berry's plated 185g SWC. Here's a picture http://www.berrysmfg.com/51.php
They're not really short or stubby.
Btw, I always look forward to reading your posts. I've come to respect your opinions here on THR.
Thanks
It's a pretty fun experience to shoot your first hand loads. I was nervous on my very first shot. I just closed my eyes and hoped nothing blew up. Once I realized that my loads actually worked it was quite a thrill.
Congrats on your first sucessful batch. Hand loading has become an...
