Mine uses the S&W mags also... Overall, quite pleased...it's compact, portable and, at least to me, practical. Had it for a few years now, and it continues to function without any problems.

Mine has been trouble free...it's a great "woods-walker"...which is what I use it for. Reciever is proportional to bore size...small and light. Mine has a full choke and has done well for varmits, etc... i.e., fine for it's intended use but probably nothing beyond that.

Actually, I'd comment that overall, there are some outstanding "buys" in the greater Houston-Harris County area... You gotta shop around and in some cases, try to negotiate the price...quite a few of the "quality" shops will work with you, depending on the item. Know your item/market...

FYI...Remington has a $30.oo rebate in effect on the Express..or did..check the website. I bought my Express 16 at Gander Mountain for $239 a couple of months ago. Took it hunting yesterday...shoots great...

I'll bet you really enjoy that "50th"...I bought one several months ago. I shoot it frequently, and really enjoy it. I carry it in the woods quite often, kind of a go anywhere-do anything revolver.

I have a Remington 11-48 R, which has a 20" factory riot barrel ( and so marked ). Function of this SG with short or long barrels is identical. I've altered A-5 barrels in the past, and found them to work normally also.

"The Rough Riders" and "we were Soldiers Once.." And, ALL the WW-2 movies that were actually produced during the war, or VERY shortly thereafter. I think that the opportunity to see all the equipment, ships, aircraft as they were ( new, in-use, "serviceable" ) then is priceless...

Congrats on the NF... I've got a 5-1/2" 44 SPL, and I'm quite fond of it. Frankly, I think the NF is a "class act" and most are reasonably priced. You, however, got a heckuva deal, so double congrats!! For me, the good sights are a boon to "old eyes" and, it's still a Colt single...
