In all fairness, they also used two atomic bombs.
As for me, I would go with my trusty old M16A2 - probably because it is what I spent so many years carrying and am just very comfortable with it. But then again, I was in one of those poorly trained Army Airborne Infantry units ;)
Interesting. The best answer of course would be to keep what came with the rifle since I already own it - from other threads on this forum though, it sounded like these sorts of scopes that come prepackaged with lower cost rifles aren't worth using - won't hold their zero and are substandard in...
I would like to spend under $250 for the scope, rings and anything else I would need. If I need to spend more than that to get equipment worth having, then I can just put off the purchase for a while.

Yes, the scope is the next big question. I have a lot more research to do to figure that one out. It seems like this is a more...

1) Dicks doesn't have any information about rifles on their website.
2) The URL for Dick’s...
Great, thanks! I will order a couple of boxes of the Silver Bears then and see what happens.
I would like to get into realoading, but that just isn't in the cards right now - maybe Santa will hook me up in December...
So I was at Dick’s sporting goods a couple of weeks back and I was surprised by how inexpensive some of their rifles are. I began tossing around the idea of adding a bolt-action .308 to my collection simply because I have always wanted one, and they are selling one with a scope for about $379...
* (Please pardon my possible n00b move here if I am posting in the wrong area – this really is an ammo question, not a reloading question , but I didn’t see a better place to post this)
I am hoping someone can educate me on the virtues of cheap ammunition:
I spent a number of years in the...
