    Model 12 Trouble

I guess, being an engineer, I like to know how things work. It helps immensely in understanding how to sort out a problem. Sorry if I offended you.

    Model 12 Trouble

Do a google search for Winchester model 12 cutaway. Midway has several videos of a cutaway model 12 that show the operation. Nuline guns has, I believe, a fairly comprehensive discussion of setting headspace and adjusting the barrel ring. If I recall correctly the chamber ring sets...

First 12 Gauge Over/Under For Skeet Suggestions

26" bbls for skeet o/u's is long out of favor. Any more, 30" is the norm for a skeet gun (in an over under) This has to do with swing weights and inertia - 30" guns have more inertia and it is much easier to have a controlled swing. 26" guns are too easy to bobble the swing. I think Todd...

First 12 Gauge Over/Under For Skeet Suggestions

The only thing the beads are for is to verify you have the gun mounted right. Mount the gun, quick glance at the beads to make sure everything is lined up right. Thats it. If you check the beads while you're swinging you will tend to stop the swing - and miss behind. You shoot skeet by...

First 12 Gauge Over/Under For Skeet Suggestions

Stay away from field guns they are generally light and will beat you up if you shoot much. Watch for a used Beretta 682, 687, 686 Sporting or Skeet model. Citori's are fine as well - I personally prefer the fit and feel of a Beretta. They are a lower profile action than the citori's and fit...

What has the Nice attack told us now!

It tells me that people that hate other people, people that have no qualms about killing people will find a way to kill people. Lots of people if that's what they want to do.

Thought I was doing everything correctly until the big bang

OP noted in post 74 that his pistol powders are loaded in a different room than his rifle and on a different press. Also, he hadn't loaded pistol in some time.

Amazing that many people still think we use fully automatic weapons

yup, this. We waste our breath, and they expand their scope.

Thought I was doing everything correctly until the big bang

I agree that you need to be very careful and methodical. What exactly would you change from what the OP did? It really sounds as though he was methodical and careful as well. From how he described his procedures there is no way he mixed powders, doesn't seem reasonable that he could get...

AR lower parts kit- many choices

I have a rock river LPK with a 2 stage NM trigger in one lower, upgraded the trigger to a Geissle ssa-e sometime later (very nice trigger BTW) I have a BCM LPK with an enhanced trigger on order now for a second lower.

Amazing that many people still think we use fully automatic weapons

What I've been seeing lately is the anti's have progressed to a 'we don't care what the BATF considers to be an assault weapon, and we don't care about select fire' position. They want anything with a detachable magazine and self loading features gone. They strongly feel the second amendment...

    Faxon AR15 Barrel Micro Review

I put a 16" Faxon Socom profile bbl on an upper I built. Using Sierra BlitzKing 55's or Nosler Ballistic tip 55's it shoots sub MOA. The best 5 shoot group I have to date is about 3/4" at 100 yds. Works for me.

Shot Trap for the First Time!

It's a release trigger. Common in trap, getting more common in skeet. They can be set up for release/release or release/pull in an over/under. A little tricky to disarm once you've set the trigger by pulling it. On an O/U you generally have to keep the trigger pulled and open the action...

Two more ?? about LNL ap

I'm thinking you're perhaps starting with the split ring just a bit too tight. Back off a turn or 2 on the split ring lock screw, adjust die, then tighten split ring. Then if you have to turn the die in or out you should be able to loosen the split ring enough to completely release from the...
