    Who scopes their .22s?

My favorite 22, my Marlin 39A, has a small 28mm RF Leupold on it. I like the look of the smaller optics on that slender gun. To each his own, but some 39A photos look like they are scoped for Elk.

Wilson 92G vs Sig 226 Legion

Dumbhunter, you did just fine. I've got an older P226, 90's vintage, that I significantly upgraded over the previous winter. Other than it being accurate, uber-reliable, and a joy to shoot, I do not understand why I like it so much.

Turkish M1911A1's for the Civilian Marksmanship Program

All things said here, I'm giving a standing ovation that there's another sub $500 1911 in the world.

    Brass Catcher

A little on the pricey side, but here is the gold standard for brass catchers in the precision pistol world. https://www.cm-machine.com/Ultimate-Brass-Catcher_c_12.html

Decide, les baer, wilson combat, ?

Ericuda, Allow me to give you a rather one sided perspective on your question. On background, I have shot Wilson 1911s much, but do not own one now. I do own a Premier II and an Ultimate Tactical Carry (UTC), both in 45ACP. Both are Tark-engraved. The Premier is my target gun while...

    Sig P229 1st Range Trip

Good going! There is something solidly good about the P229 platform. My own 229 is a US model in 9mm. Accurate, fun, and not a Glock. :)

    Dillon powder measure bars

This is not my experience. I'm a life long engineer therefore prone to over test documentation. My experience is very little variance, in either direction, across quite a large sample set. Best of luck getting your setup baselined.

    Norinco M14

Blue Brick, I'd do it. For $800 these days you can't blow your nose in the quality rifle domain. You have a chance to own a faithful copy of an American iconic rifle. They are a world of fun at 200m.

The manual safety - yet again.

That was a pretty good read although he never came back to his manual safety exception, the 1911. His point about muscle memory and the failure there of has merit. I will add from my own perspective after 16 years of professional 1911 experience, my own muscle memory still has me swiping...

Thank you, John Browning, for the 1911.

The 1911 is my first and greatest love.

America's True Civilian Marksmanship Program: Project Appleseed

Another important quality of The Appleseed project is the integration of American history into the program.

Service Grade M1 Garands at the CMP

Do not be so hasty on calling CMP out for not supporting marksmanship. Just last year CMP came to my Virginia club for a four day weekend of instruction and competition. A day and a half on pistol competition, and two days on Hi Power rifle competition. The amazing point is that the CMP...

Ruger Precision Rimfire in 22 LR for 100 Yard Competition

Doubleh, Copy that on once in a lifetime achievement. I have targets shot when all cosmic elements including God above were in support. They are fun, but not reality. Looking back through my data book, if I shot 10 rounds 10 times, about half would be as posted (if wind free). Half of the...

Ruger Precision Rimfire in 22 LR for 100 Yard Competition

I'm going to offer a different opinion. The Ruger Precision Rifle is good enough. I have a stock version, shooting off a Harris short bipod, with a rear rest and a Vortex Diamondback Tactical, 6x-24x, FFP. This target was shot yesterday. The center is 1.5" in diameter. I'm reading a...

    PRS/NRL22 rifle

About a year ago, a Ruger Precision Rifle joined the herd at a fire sale price. It spent the winter in the weapons locker, coming out about a month ago. Cabela's helped on the optics selection by putting a Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP on sale. 6x-24x, as I remember. Then a shortie Harris...
