Do not vacuum seal your ammunition!

That's only the physical force of the atmosphere pushing down on the bag and the cookie. If you want to see what vacuum alone does to an oreo, put it in a plastic box with a hole in it, then vacuum seal that.

Do not vacuum seal your ammunition!

I really doubt vacuum sealing had anything to do with this. There's not much space in the casing after powder for gas. Then there's the fact that air is only about 20% oxygen. And that I'd expect air to re-enter the casing soon after you took it out of storage.

    9mm gets no respect...why?

I carry 9mm. I'm not concerned with round to round comparisons between 9 and .45. A reasonably skilled shooter can put two 9mm slugs on target before brass even hits the ground. The extra 50 ft/lb or so isn't worth sacrificing half of my mag capacity. 9mm/.40/.45 are in the same class as far...

    ammunitionaccountability.org

As someone who's written compression software, I can tell you that the whole one character = LOC argument is irrelevant. Using tables to compress large, often occurring data segments doesn't concern us here. The goal here is to represent as many unique combinations are possible and with...

Good beginner's home defense handgun for under $500?

I have an XD9 and a CZ75 and I'd recommend either. If you like plastic guns, the XD is unbeatable. I prefer the old world all-steel guns though, and of those, the CZ is my favorite. I have smaller hands too and where Sigs and HKs feel chunky, the CZ fits just right. I would and do trust my...

Want a high cap 9mm that will shoot reloads

I have a Springfield XD/SC and a CZ75. They both seem to eat just about anything I buy or load. In fact, the CZ hasn't fired a single round of factory ammo in its entire life, just reloads.

    auto caliber revolver frienzy

Maybe it's because gun manufacturers are overshooting the demand curve on both sides. Auto caliber revolvers will have a small and steady following. I don't know why gun manufacturers feel that unless they sell a billion units, it's not worth their time. Prices are soaring because nobody...

    XD9 Subcompact or PT145?

It made a habit of light striking and going into fits of full-auto fire. The result was, when you pulled the trigger, you'd either get a click or a burp of 3 or 4 rounds.

    XD9 Subcompact or PT145?

I can't tell you about the PT145, but I own both the XD9 and PT111 (9mm) and prefer the XD. In theory, the PT should be superior with its manual safety and second strike capability, but in practice, it light strikes too often to inspire confidence. The XD has a much stronger firing pin spring...

Guy beat up woman at my bus stop

Best thing to do: ignore and walk away. Weigh the cost/benefit of that fuzzy feeling you get vs being dragged into court, sued or jailed.

Do you carry with a round chambered?

I carry two 9mms two ways depending on how I'm dressed and the time of year. Summer / deep concealment: XD9SC in a thunderwear, empty chamber, 16+0. Winter / semi-concealed: CZ75 compact in a vertical shoulder rig, chambered, 14+1, hammer down safety off. Reason is, the thunderwear is a...

Who else counts rounds at the movies?

She fired a few rounds on that herky-jerky acid spitting thing outside, then she put a few into the reaper as he shoved his giant blade through the steel door. Then she fired the last one into the ceiling in the sanctuary after the reaper tore off that woman's skin and hurled it against the...

    Those Who Carry OWB

Can you sit down and drive comfortably like that? Am I being unrealistic in trying to conceal a CZ75 compact?
