    Swedish Mauser

@eastbank I'll agree, the one you posted looks like crap, and trust me, this one won't look anything like that when I'm done with it. I'll be sure to post a picture when I'm done if dad decides he does want me to modify it.

no, I'm fine with people giving an opinion, even though I didn't ask for an opinion on whether or not I should do it. And I appreciate the link given in one of the first replies. As for the rest of you- this accurately describes what you're doing:

    Swedish Mauser

oh and for the record, I appreciate the info from the first couple of posts about the rifle- that being said, I will run that by my dad and see what he would like to do. I DO NOT, however, need everybody commenting on this post lecturing me about what I should or shouldn't do. Thank you for...

    Swedish Mauser

yes, but given that the numbers are different on different parts, that greatly affects the value of the gun as a collector's item. It appears that someone (individual or importer) has pieced this together from two different rifles.

    Swedish Mauser

yeah, I just think the biggest detractor to the value is that not all the #s match, so apparently someone has replaced parts(maybe pieced two together to make one)

    Swedish Mauser

looking at the thread posted above, there seem to be several changes made- bore threaded, several parts replaced (have the last 3 of the serial on them with an electro pencil), as well as a few other things. These were $80 Woolworth special 20+ years ago according my dad. The bore disc lists...

Which to get for a wood 10/22 with sling mount and good sights?

Another option is to install a kit like the Archangel 556 kit on a 10/22, then install AR type iron sights. I prefer these to the standard iron sights on a 10/22. Here's a link to a blog that talks about installing the kit and has a few pictures. I have done this with a 10/22 I got that was...

    Swedish Mauser

I am looking to may some upgrades to a Swedish Mauser that my dad has had for 20+ years. I looked it up online, and it appears to be an m96, and it shoots a 6.5x55 round. I would like to put a synthetic stock on it, shorten the barrel, add a scope and scope mounts, and possibly change the...

    Escort 12 Gauge

yeah, I see lots of options on Hatsan's site, but it doesn't look like any of these are imported

    No Weapons Allowed

It does depend on the state- here in NC, if they've posted that sign and you carry anyway, you're breaking the law. I find these places are good to talk to the manager, and if you explain the legalities of posting that sign (ie, they take the responsibility of providing protection for myself...

    Escort 12 Gauge

I purchased a 12 gauge "riot" gun (18.5 inch barrel, all black, etc) a while back for a very cheap price. The brand says Escort, and it says it's made in turkey. I had some reservations about the brand at first, but it has shot and cycled very well. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my...
