polarized fishing glasses cheap vs expensive

I wear a pair of Natives. They run about $100, but have replaceable high quality polycarbonate lenses and a great warranty. They are a good middle of the road option. I know my set is considered to be safety glasses, so I wear them while shooting, fishing, or just messing around.

    Ruger SR1911 problem

If you keep having issues with it, call Ruger and send it in. They have some of the best customer service in the industry and will get you fixed up. Mine has been absolutely flawless with FMJs, plated bullets, and hollowpoints. My factory mags have been good to go, too. Overall, I love mine...

    scoping in A2 AR15

My friend has an older Olympic AR with the fixed carry handle and a 3-9x40 scope on top of it. He has leveled all 6 deer he has shot at with it. So, it can be done. By far the best option is to swap to a flattop upper or stick with a non magnified optic on top of the carry handle.

Went shopping for 22lr and ended up with a mosin

Kerosene or diesel will take the cosmo off too. When I did mine, I put all the small parts (screws, bolt parts, mag box, etc.) in a tub of kerosene and then used a soft bristle brush and scrubbed the cosmo off of the metal parts to big to fit in the tub. I was going to refinish the stock, so I...

    AR15 choices...

Palmetto State Armory is good, as is Del-Ton. I had a Stag 2 complete upper and it was an awesome shooter. From personal experience, Del-Ton and Stag uppers will be accurate enough for what you want. Just remember that the cheap FMJ ammo probably will not shoot MOA or under. If you want to...

Known handguns that are very finicky with HP's

My CZ97B wouldn't shoot anything other than FMJs worth a dang. Every hollowpoint I tried jammed it up. I sent it off to CZ to fix the issue, got it back, and haven't tried hollowpoints since then. I've got a few hundred 200 grain plated HPs loaded up, so I guess we will see soon whether or...

Snow holiday reloading fun (25 ACP)

I managed to load 500 45ACP rounds while Birmingham was turning into a big parking lot. I can't wait to try out these 200 grain plated hollowpoints.

    Ruger M77 for $325?

My old tang safety 308 has been a great rifle. I love the polished blue and walnut stock. The old ones are just made very well. I always have my eye out for another one in any caliber. I would probably jump all over one that was in good mechanical shape for that price.

    Daniel Defense

I wouldn't really expect tack driving accuracy. I just don't want an AR that has trouble keeping rounds in a 6" circle at 100 yards. When I get mine, it will either wear an Aimpoint or a 1-4 power scope, so accuracy isn't critical. I do enjoy hitting what I aim at though.

What kind of accuracy are you getting out of that rifle, Box? Does the barrel heating affect group sizes? I've already talked myself into a DD. Trying to figure out if the LW barrel is the way to go.

    First Handload Deer!

I'm in the same boat, Ten. I shot my second deer ever, the first in 11 years, last Thursday. The first was with borrowed equipment. I gut shot a small spike. As bad as that was, I was enthusiastic enough to go out and buy my own "deer" rifle. Not long after I got my rifle, I started...

Starting points for CFE223 and H335 under 55gr HP out of an AR

I used the starting load for CFE223 (26 grains) with a 52 grain BTHP in a Stag model 2 carbine and a Midlength build with an A2 stock. It cycled in both rifles very well. For me, the CFE seemed pretty dirty until I got around 27 grains and up. For blasting 223/556 reloads, I prefer 25 grains...

    Stag Model 2 ?

I just sold a Stag 2. It was a good rifle all around. Functioned 100% with several reloads, steel cased, and brass cased ammo. I probably had close to 2,000 rounds through mine. I never put a scope on it, but I did have a Vortex Strikefire mounted. It was as accurate as you could hope for...

Hornady SST or Sierra Gameking for whitetails

I took a 90 lb whitetail just yesterday with a 165 gameking SP out of my 308. She was quartering away and facing downhill. The shot was about 40 yards or so. This is a mild load with only 43 grains of IMR 4064, but the bullet did its job. It blew a 2" entry hole through the right rib...
