I received an 18" police barrel for my 12ga. Remington 870 Express lefty version for Christmas (the barrel is part #24620). I've been wanting one of these for quite some time. Unfortunately, as we found out, the barrel mentioned only works with the regular right-handed version of the shotgun...
I picked up a Browning Buckmark Standard Stainless UDX several weeks ago and am awfully happy with it. It has a nice "substantial" feel to it, the grips are very comfortable, it's easy to disassemble/clean, and just fun to fire. I picked up a set of HiViz fiber optic sights for it too (about...
Alliant Powder recommends using a maximum charge of 3.6gr of Bullseye in a .38 Special with a 158gr bullet. So yeah, your Bullseye loads may be too strong. The general rule of thumb too is to start reloading at 90% of the recommended maximum and go up from there.
My friend and I reload with about 2/3 of the tumbler full of corn cob (it's about $3.50 for a huge bag at Wal*Mart), put a few healthy squeezes worth of Frankford Arsenal Brass Polish in there, tumble it for a few minutes to mix it in, and dump the brass in. I can do about 200 pieces of .357...
I just picked up and installed the HiViz fiber optic sight for my Browning Buckmark Standard this evening, and had a chance to take it out to the range before it got dark. Gotta say, it's definitely a lot more accurate than the regular iron sights! I do have a question for you all though...
Well this evening I cut out some patches of my yellow Lead Remover cloth and ran it through the cylinders, and I was suprised at how much lead was taken out and left on the cloth (when nitro solvent patches gave the impression that the cylinder was clean). Even with the new brass, they chamber...
Bob, I started with 125gr Remington 357's and 120gr Remington 38's. Didn't have any problem with those, but it was after I used a batch of about 150 reloaded 38's with 125gr hollow points that the rings formed. They weren't overly hot either, they had less than 4 grains of Bullseye in them.
So far I've cleaned it after every outing, no more than about a day afterwards. I do have some lead removal cloth as well as a .40 brush, I'll try them both and see where they get me. Thanks for the ideas!
Hello all. I thought this would be a good place to get some educated opinions on an issue I'm having. I have a S&W 686 Plus that I've fired about 500 rounds of 38 Specials and about 100 rounds of .357's through so far (just got it last month). After recently firing a batch of about 150 38...
