How long did it take before your reloads were as reliable as factory ammo?

You should have plenty of time then. Just don't wait until the last minute to get the components together. Stuff that's "always" available goes missing just when you need it.

How long did it take before your reloads were as reliable as factory ammo?

I agree with the other responses - reliability should not be a problem. My question would be about how fast you have to / will want to produce the reloads. You could make up all 5000 ahead of time, or you could figure on loading the amount for the first course then reloading them for the second...

    Can anyone identify this 22?

All of my uncles, for that matter all of the family of that generation, are now shooting at the big shooting range in the sky:-). I'll check with some cousins just out of curiosity, though. Thanks.

    Can anyone identify this 22?

Thank you! That's consistent with others of the "family firearms". I have the Remington model 12 manufactured in 1928 (restoring it is a current project). Don't know what happened to this one - maybe one of my uncles took it.

    Can anyone identify this 22?

My mother, about 1938. Any ideas what model she's shooting?

casting - got a source of lead, need advice!

I would think the problem with range lead would be that you don't know what the composition is. I think you'd be better off with a source where you knew what was in it, and maybe didn't have to pay shipping.

Do I have to trickle My Powder Exactly to the nth Degree or not?

The first time I went to a Benchrest match I assumed everyone would be weighing each charge. Such was not the case - they just got their powder measure set and went with that. Of course we are talking very accurate powder measures here - some of them cost up to $300 or so. But everyone...

    .38 Cal bullets

LotI - Those are massively ugly bullets from Midway's picture. They look like someone's first casting effort. Tell use the bullets you got were better than that!

    Wood epoxy

If you can clamp the break firmly and the surfaces are clean - not soiled or oily - use Titebond glue.

Flashhole - That's one good looking rifle!

    need a load for a 243

Here's how I'd go about working up a load for a new rifle. I'd start with trying to get a powder that fills the case as much as possible. One rule of thumb to do this is to find the capacity of the case by weighting the fired case, then filling it with water to the bottom of where your bullet...

45 ACP with Win NT headstamp

I was loading some 45 ACP earlier and I ran onto some cases I picked up at the range obviously from someone else - The headstamp is WIN NT 45 AUTO, but the primer pocket is definitly not for a large pistol primer. Anyone know what these are? Anyone know if there is a way in the search...

    Author Lacks Knowledge

With respect to the possibility that the author intended that an external safety had been added to the Glock - Making special knowledge of that sort of possibility requisite for your writing is extremely amateurish. Much more likely the author was simply ignorant. It's possible, of course, that...
