So I’ve really never end used a scope but want one to shoot out to 200 yards with 22lr. My budget is under $500. I’ve read a lot of posts and am confused. I am planning to bench shooting. Any help would be appreciated.

I picked one up at the exchange at wright Pat afb a few months ago in 9mm. It was 30% off of the exchange price. I probably wouldn’t have bought it otherwise although I’ve wanted one in 357for a while. I’ve been really happy with it.

I would suggest an older smith. I have serverla that I’ve put thousands and thousands of rounds through. They just get better with time.

The gau5 was the weapons officers in the security police were issued in at least one sac unit in the 80’s. I remember it well. We used them on convey duty and when we were in a heighten state of alert.
