.460 I can only answer about the power of the round. It's a bad boy! I have the S&W version and have dropped a whitetail @ 115+. Hoping to join the "200 Club" this year. If you buy one, start out with a smaller load. The 275 gr is my choice for whitetails.

Anyone fired this round thru the .460 yet? Don't have time for reloading but the Corbon S&W .460s are getting mighty expensive. Appreciate input...

ARTiger You are going to have a blast (literally) Saturday. I coach a high school baseball team so my shooting is now limited but I am planning a ground hog hunt Sunday with the .460 and shooting stix. Can't wait!

ATTN: Redhawk... What grain(s) have you settled in with for the .460? I know you are a reloader and I am not, but just picking your brain on this one. I'm still waiting on the Corbon 325s to arrive (back ordered for 2 months) before settling on a particular round. I'm like you-- I don't want...

Contenders have 12" barrels... Encores have 15" barrels. As for legality in Illinois, my 7mm.08 was ILLEGAL. That's one of the reasons I purchased the .460. Sure glad I did!

Good shooting gun... I had an Encore in the 7mm.08 and recoil was noticeably less than the .308. I forget what mounts I had, but had a Leupold scope on top. I just didn't like the 15" barrel for the type hunting I do, so I sold gun and picked up a .460. However, you will love the T/C.

They work great... for us hand-cannon hunters.

What grain in the .460 did you have your wife shooting? If it was the 395, she should file papers on you...:rolleyes:

Scope... I have an Aimpoint 3000 (red dot-fixed pwr) on my .460 and it works very well. Same sight is used extensively by our military in the Middle East.

Does my name give a hint? :D I have killed a number of deer with a T/C Encore but that gun is no match,personally, to my S&W .460 scoped with an Aimpoint 3000. Great weapon!

Aimpoint 3000 sits atop my .460 and seems to work well, as it has done for our Armed Forces...

I guess the Alabama Redneck wanted to come out of me when I called my Illini animal in instead of driving up to a check-in station with the tailgate down!:D Anyway, my only gripe is having to get my bifocals out to read the tiny print on the license.
