I'm right-handed but shoot with each hand and would say one of the KT's advantages is that it's ambidextrous. I believe a shooter should be able to shoot one-handed with either hand because when it really counts you may not still have two hands.
Kel-Tec P-3AT weighs 8 ounces empty and a little over 11 ounces loaded, depending on the ammo design. All of the others weigh more...even much more and will sag a pocket enough to print out in some cases. It's lighter than most 25s but far more effective.
Anything that means to be...
I sent it in about late last spring and got it back about September I think. Promptly traded it in on something else. The 22 works fine so far. Both looked the same but one was hopeless. I'll keep the 22 as long as it works okay but amm too disgusted to buy another Taurus.
I use an XD-45c for all of the above with 4" barrel which is best for concealed carry. Double Tap FMJ is my choice for all serious use. Has 520 pounds at the muzzle in 5" and probably about 490 in 4". Short 10-round mag for CC, 13-round otherwise. Very little difference in recoil effect or speed...
I've had two little Tauruses. The 22 works fine so far. The 25 was the worst gun I've ever seen...ever, by far. It took months to come back from Florida with only some of the problems seen to. :fire: Away it went!!!!
I shoot Bersa Thunder and Thunder Plus as well as two Kel-Tec 380s which the Ruger is copied on. All are very reliable. The little Kel-Tec hides so easily that it's my 24/7 gun plus sometimes an XD-45c when possible.
The bersas are too heavy for pocket carry but the Thunder Plus fits my...
The Thunder Plus(15 + 1) has a double row mag and fits my average-sized hand better than the standard Thunder. Both very reliable. The CC is too heavy for pocket use and probably too big. Get a Kel-Tec 380 for pockets.
These are nice size for IWB carry and bersa.com will have much talk...
I have been known to flinch all over the place when shooting from a little Kel-Tec but don't flinch a bit with my XD-45c. A number of odd reasons seem to be involved that don't exactly relate to the laws of physics.
The little gun seems too little and light and psychologically I felt it...
You might want to try a Kel-Tec 380. The two I carry work fine. They had teething problems when new but have ironed them out over the years. Very small, light guns in relatively large calibers for their size have every bit of metal made as thin as they dare. Every bit of manufacture has to be...
There was an article in the XD forum yesterday by an ex-cop who now works in the Atlanta morgue and takes part in hundreds of autopsies every year. This is a long, major entry on the effectiveness of various calibers and bullet designs by someone who digs out bullets, records the wounds, gathers...
Taurus 25 caliber. Bad beyond belief!! Oddly enough, I have the same gun in a 22 and it works fine despite the fact that 22 is usually much harder to feed accurately in most guns. Customer service takes months and is only partial. Avoid Taurus. :cuss:
Mine is a 4" compact model...takes both 10 and 13-round mags. It's my favorite gun. Not more to say than that. :D You'll probably love it. Check the XD forum. Much happiness...few complaints.
My 2 Kel-Tec 380s work fine. They have more experience making them than their imitators at Ruger. Like all machinery(including new cars) they need a break-in period to let them wear in before real use. Pump the action a couple of hundred times. Dry fire it with a snap cap. Carefully feed ammo...
