    Lyman Ideal press dimensions

I'm looking into upgrading my old Lee press with a more sturdy Lyman Ideal press. Would anybody with this press be able to give me the dimensions of the base? (base size and hole locations). Could I also get the vertical distance from the table top to the ball on the handle when the ram is all...

    Wet Tumble Not so Good

What is your drying method? I've found that if I just put them on a pan to air dry that I'll get water spots. So I put them in a towel and roll them around to get the majority of the water off then let them air dry on a pan over night.

    204 OCW test

Thank you for the insight Bart, I hadn't realized the group sizes could vary so much. This makes me want to go out and shoot maybe 10 5-shot groups with 26.1 gr and see how my groups vary.

    204 OCW test

Oh, that's my bad. I see what you're saying now, thank you for the suggestion, I will give it a try this spring. I'm kind of confused by what you're saying. So do you mean I should have seen a lot larger spread in my group sizes from 25.6 to 26.6? I plan on shooting some 10-20 shot groups...

    204 OCW test

I will probably try horsey's suggestion and load up 5 round at each charge and test them at 100 yards. This probably won't be done till April or May because it looks like winter has settled back in here in PA. If anyone else has any input I'm all ears.

    204 OCW test

Well I took advantage of yesterday's unseasonably warm weather, it was 75 here in western PA! I made up some loads for my 204 using H4895 and 39 gr SBK's. Needless to say I am very please with my results. I am thinking of using 26.1 gr as my load, not only did it shoot very well but 26.0 and...

Thinking about a 204, any thoughts on manufacturers?

Just an update, I've had my 204 for a couple weeks now and I love it! It easily shoots under 1/2 MOA if I do my part. I've also killed close to 20 groundhogs with it and I'd say a little over half have left some huge exit wounds. Longest kill so far has been 350 yards, the Mueller scope I put on...

Thinking about a 204, any thoughts on manufacturers?

Well I just ordered my 204, Savage 12 FCV, got it for $575. I will post again with updates on how everything goes and how it shoots. I was considering putting a Mueller Eraticator 8.5-25x50 scope on it, I've read good reviews and haven't really seen any bad reviews.

Thinking about a 204, any thoughts on manufacturers?

I was looking at the model 12 FCV, which model 12 do you have? I've heard similar things about the 700 stocks being pretty cheap.

Thinking about a 204, any thoughts on manufacturers?

Hello, I am considering buying a 204 for groundhog hunting (300-400 yard max), I will not be walking around too much so I was thinking about buying a heavy barrel gun. I would like to be able to get a gun for $500-600 and a scope for $200-300. I was looking into the Savage package deals for...

    Just getting into handloading

Could you elaborate on which loads you think are promising and maybe explain why? Just trying to learn what to look for. I should have mentioned that I was using bags under the stock and a bipod.
