It really depends on which feels better to you. There is definite size/weight/balance difference. The grips are different. For me the 686 size frame has always been perfect. The N's just seemed a little large for me and I never enjoyed shooting them as much. The only advantage a 2+ inch gun...
I have never even fired a CZ 75 but really love the way it feels in my hand. I'm going to try one hopefully in a few days. I was wondering if there is any reliability differences between the 75 and the newer SP version? Do they compare to the glocks/sigs in reliability? I'm a revolver guy...
I have 2 Gp-100's, both 3 inchers, and have had numerous 4"er's in the past. I am in complete agreement with those preferring the original grips to the current Hogues. The Hogues are tolerable on the 4" or longer barreled guns but they are one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen on a 3" that...
The guy who does the reviews on "Gunblast" said it was his favorite revolver. He said that the trigger was the finest he's ever felt on a Ruger and said that it rivalled a good S&W. And, the Match Champion he was shooting did not have fixed sights, but adjustable rear and fiber optic front.
I have 2 GP's in 3", with one being a WC. I CC them both with no problem. With the old style rubber/wood insert compact grips they are my single favorite handgun ever. I have had a few speed sixes in the past. Great guns, just prefer the 3" GP's more. I did vote to keep them both though...
I'm just a GP fan in general, with the 3 inch with the old style grips being tops for me. 5's are nice though and are harder to find which is why some will pay more.
I was wondering what a good price would be for a S&W pre model 27. The one I saw has a 6-61/2 inch barrel on it and had a stunning blue finish and looked darn near new. I don't believe that it had been refinished.
There is a reason that Buffalo Bore uses GP-100's to test out their really hot loads. But it's also a moot point. They are both strong enough for any practical person for almost ever. A good smith can tune a GP to a very nice level but not quite to a S&W. I own both and am a huge fan of...
