Load data Unique powder for Berry's 220 grain bullets?

I don't think it will help you but I am running 230 grain round nose Berry's bullets over 5.5 to 5.7 gn Unique in a S&W 625. I went as low as 4.5 gn Unique with no issues except they were way under power factor.

Are you getting consistent loads with Unique?

I have been using unique for 9mm and 45 ACP for the last six years in my Hornady LNL with no problems. When I set it for 4.0 grains it reliably throws 3.9 to 4.1 all day long, as others have said it is a sooty powder. Since I have two 8 Lb jugs yet to be opened I will be using it for a long time.

    Sorting range brass

I use the three piece colander set with the 380 steel plate insert. It is a PITA thats why I have 6 five gallon buckets sitting around waiting to be sorted. If I had the space to set one up I would get an automatic sorter but my small garage won't handle it.

anyone here ever try the Warren Tactical/Sevigny Competiton sights??

I have them on my BUG (G26) and my SSP (G34). I can pick up the front sight quicker with the fiber optic than the other styles. The only issue I had was learning where in the rear sight to place the red for zero down shots since I focus on it verses the top of the front sight post. Once...

    Glock 17L shoots high

You cant go wrong with Dawson's, I prefer the blacked out rear with red fiber optic in the front. I am able to pick up that red spot much earlier in my draw stroke than a white dot.

    Practicing for IDPA?

ohihunter2014 I would suggest downloading the Rulebook and Match Directors Handbook, knowledge is power. With that being said IDPA is a game and if your competitive then you will want to game the game or you will place poorly. When I first started I was a full time LEO and had to play the game...

    Brand new re-loader Help!

I echo everything said before me. I decided to start with progressive press as I am mechanically inclined and I had a long time reloader as a mentor. I chose the Hornady lock N load for various different reasons but the Dillon is just as good. If you are going to crank out lots of rounds for...

    Troubled hornady bullet feeder question

I feel your pain. I had to sand (Dremel) both collets a fair amount to get my 9mm plated bullets to drop reliably. It was a serious PITB to put together & take apart that many times but it works flawlessly now and makes a loading session much more productive.

    Hornady LNL AP EZject Problem

I have run 380, 9MM, 38, 40, 45, 223 & 308 through my LNL and that has happened only 3 or 4 times. I just attributed it to one of those things that happen. More often (About ten times) the cartridge starts to get wedged then pops out on the floor five feet away oddly enough that only happened...

    Hornady L-N-L Die selection

My reloading mentor had Lee dies on his setup so that’s what I bought for mine. I have 223, 308, 9mm, 380, 38, 40, & 45 that all work great in my LNL. They have put out thousands of rounds any mistakes were my fault not the press or dies. I chose not to use the lock-out or powder cop dies, I...

    CCW permit aplication, same county?

According to the Virginia code: Any person 21 years of age or older may apply in writing to the clerk of the circuit court of the county or city in which he resides, or if he is a member of the United States Armed Forces, the county or city in which he is domiciled, for a five-year permit to...

    308 reloading issues

Thanks for all the suggestions A little more info on my situation Brass is LC 96, I don’t know the history on it but the primers were crimped so I’m thinking it’s once fired. My expander button measures exactly .306 and the bullets .308 This is my first time reloading 308 but I plan on using...

    Digital Scale?

Plus 1 on the RCBS 750. I have been very happy with it. As said above catching a double charge by weighing finished rounds is next to impossible. I have found the best way is to look into each case as I set the bullet on it. Since I am using a Hornady L-N-L I would have to do something...
