Cop Bob;
Around late 60's and early 70's, we had a very repressive government, there were even 2 attacks using warfare on civilians in public demonstrations, so the government was afraid of an uprising, that's when they banned carrying and big bore guns.
I live in Puebla (250km south...
TexasBill, you're right, my mistake. I had in mind the 92fs, not the cheetah, which is just a bit heavier than glock 25, and almost the same mag capacity (on standard mag)
Verge, too bad for that EFMJ... On the other hand, PowRball ammo is allowed, just not very sure if I prefer it over a standard FMJ.
Dodo, that´s a good advice in Mexico, a shovel and some gallons of acid...
mgregg85, seems interesting that rugger snubbie, but I already have one similar...
Yes, the only thing I don´t love about glocks is the dao... I believe is a lot safer to have a sa/da, with an empty chamber.
Do you think those 11mm less of barrel will be significant in 25m targets?
As much as I love Berettas I find the cheetah way too heavy for the limited magazine capacity.
But I saw a Tanfoglio .380, same capacity as glock 25, just 11mm less barrel lenght, and sa/da
I´ve never fired a tanfoglio, so tell me, what would you choose glock 25 of tanfoglio FT 9...
hirundo82, it's almost impossible to get a carry permit in México. Basically anyone is allowed to ask for the permit, but the national defense secretary has no obligation to give it or even give you an explanaiton. But, I´m establishing a private security company, and I already have the approval...
1) .38super pistols are illegal; .38spl revolvers are allowed
2) Wadcutters aren´t illegal, just stupidly hard to find.
3) Yes, Glock 25 is available in Mexico, directly from the SDN (National Defence Secretary) at around $600 dlls.
4) Manco & lobo9er thanks for the tip on Imbel 1911...
Great, I posted this thread because I was a little more inclined to getting a a .380, but a lot of people has been trying to convince me that it´s better to carry a .38spl, even it has less than 1/2 of the round capacity.
So, now... what´s the best .380, and is there any full size .380? are...
JFrame, thanks a lot for your reply.
I feel a lot more confortable with a 1911 frame, except for some big frame revolvers (loved those taurus' rubber grips)
I'd rather carry something lightweight, but with at least 4"barrel in order to properly shoot at targets at a decent distance.
So...
Ok, 1 point for Glock .380. And no, I´m not interested in pocket guns (i have a 22. bobcat) I want a regular size, for practicing (no fun in shooting with small barrels).
Thank you
