Glock 19 gen 3 is a good gun, but I do prefer the M&P grip angle

The Taurus PT92, 99, 100, and 101 have an ambi safety and decocker. Push up for safety and down for decock.

I've got the 19, and I carry it everyday. I recently got a 27 because I thought it would be easier to carry due to the shorter grip but still prefer the 19. I shoot better with the 19 so if I was going to get one primarily for "range and home defense" I'd get the 19.

I've got a PT22. I use the tip-up barrel to load the first round because the slide on mine is really tough to pull back. I don't care for the magazine disconnect but I know it's another safety feature. I'm accurate with mine out to 10 yards. Perfect reliability with high velocity, but it's picky.

It sounds like you might have a magazine problem. I've had this same problem before and changing out the magazines fixed it.
