I don't think there are any companies making the Paterson anymore. They are no longer listed on the web pages.

I think Palmetto still makes the Walker. Not real sure because so many models have been dropped in the last year. Navy Arms has sold revolvers by many makers.

I have one of the Pietta 1873s in blackpowder and the answer to the question is: no, it can't be converted within reason. The parts are offset just enough that it would take a lot of work to convert it to centerfire.
