3/4 of the replies used hunting, get rid of those for the OP and it would be interesting. I'll vote for the carbine or rifle in 357. Worse case scenario is you fight use it and decide to sell it for what you have in it.
FWIW....

straight up M4 ish carbine.
Easter sale, build kit from PSA for $419, complete upper and lower parts minus stripped lower.
Lower on sale for $49
Done.
works good enough, no worries.
I have AR's in 55.6 and 25-45 sharps.
I have a Hi-point in 45.
I have a Beretta Storm in 45.
I want an AR in 45 but the cost is high, even just an upper, DI is preferred.
I'd like a nice lever action in 357, easy to shoot and matches my revolver. Marlin is the best IMHO but hard to find...
7 mag is one of the most common calibers for elk/deer at longer(ish) ranges. It's only too much if it hurts. Some say same recoil of a 30-06 with more performance. Lighter bullet that is faster.
I'd go .338, preference on the 338 federal or something like it.
Of course I have a 7 STW...
Bobby is a nice guy, great business man.

ALL parts are made in the USA, I believe. I know he posted for thoughts on his FB page once due to price increase.
Holsters are better than most, kydex goes up higher on the gun for instance.

I have a Mauser in 25-06. It has had it's up and downs feeding. The feed ramps were modified and there is a block in the back of the action so I can put the rounds all the way to the back and life is good.
Hope you get it figured out, mine is a great shooter that I took my first deer with.
I'm sure a 200% tax on ammo would help to reduce crime. You understand that we all have to give a little more right? Only the rich have guns, the police will protect the poor, only the rich buy this stuff, they can help the rest of us. It's not for ordinary Americans......
I can hear the...
You get 90% of a great 1911 (accuracy, function) by spending 40% of that on a good basic 1911.
A rugger can do at least 90% of the Ed Brown at (approx) 40% the money.
But that last 10% is awesome, can't put it in words!
JMHO

Yes, you will notice differences. Not necessarily from make to make but even from model to model. I have a Sistema up through a Dan Wesson and a SA that was tweaked by a pistolsmith and some in between. The smoothness and crispness of its function is what you notice. Insert a mag and rack the...
Zak's last post on previous page was dead on. I really want to do more rifle shooting but an actual competition based on hunting would suck. I love to hunt, pride my self on patience for 1 shot, 1 kill. I'll walk a couple miles a day and shoot no more than 3 shots most seasons. I'd rather run...
