The automag II is reliable but picky on ammo as it had to do with the pressure curve. Used to have one....one of several handguns I miss.

You might look for a good used S&W model 66. Yeah it may be 30+ years old but it was made well and will still rock on. They also hold their value well. Mine was an old police trade in. Stainless with no real holster wear. Adjustable rear sights. It is about as sweet as my three screw model...

You can probably pick up a nice stainless S&W model 66 4" barrel in .357 for less than $500. Don't forget to look at Dan Wesson as well. They made excellent revolvers and you can change the barrels to suit your mood.

The mossberg 500 line is good...maverick 88 is basically that. I think the 835 is also closely based on the 500.

I bought mine used 20 years ago...still works great and has taken out many a dove.

I have used that bullet in an 1903A3 for deer, wild hog, and javalina. In every case it did what it was supposed to do. Ranges from < 50 yards to about 100 yards.

Remington 581/541 series bolt action (.22 s,l,lr) CZ 452 NEF handi rifle single shot...stupid simple but keeps on going. 10-22 that started as a receiver, bolt, and trigger group in mid 90's...hasn't failed me since I built it up.

If you are shooting indoors with a flash bounce the flash off the ceiling and somewhat behind you....that turns the sharp flash into big diffused light...same as if you were shooting outdoors in overcast weather. Big soft diffused light.

My CZ 452 deluxe in .22mag will do 5 shots into a dime - nickel at 50yds. Never had it on a range that allowed rimfire on 100 yd's....yet.

Look at the Rossi '92 Trapper model. The 44 is light and the 38/357 is even lighter..

yep the Dan's are under appreciated. I've got the pistol pack in 22 with a second cylinder and crane for .22mag. Then I've got a 357 and 44mag with several barrels for each. and the dan wesson forum previously mentioned is a good place too. Lot's of good info.

+1 on the Rossi 92... BTW it is a top eject so it is the same for righties or lefties.
