Yeah, my personal test is if it'll fire 200 rounds of defensive ammo without a malfunction, then I'm comfortable using it for anything. Also in the case of the M&P platform the factory produced 9mm has a chequered reputation with regard to accuracy, speculatively due to barrel design. From...
I'd get a 9mm conversion barrel for your M&P 40. I just did and am pretty happy with the results. As far as I know, the only difference between a stock M&P 9 and 40 are the barrels and the 9 slide being about half an ounce lighter (and magazines), but the difference isn't enough to adversely...
I just got a 40 to 9mm 5" barrel conversion for my M&P's. I have 3 5" barreled M&P 40 models so it made sense to get this. I ordered the black nitrided version to maintain a more stock look, and it arrived about 3 weeks after I ordered it directly from the kkm website. My M&P 40's are old...
To be fair my previous wandering zero issues have been with various M14 mounts. That rifle manages to loosen any mount that tries to go in it's scope mounting slot given enough time/rounds.
Have badger rings on my 700 and it has never had any issues. Maybe I will just try a larue mount on the...
I realize the cantilever mount is necessary for eye relief/charging handle use on the AR-15, but on the AR-10 there are 4-5 more rail slots equating to 3-4" more length on the top of the upper, which is why I thought rings might work OK.
There have been reports of the larue QD mounts not...
Have a LaRue OBR on order and am researching the optics while I wait.
Probably going to go with something like a Vortex Razor HD 6-24x if the budget allows, otherwise might default to a Mark 4, anyway a 50mm objective.
Ay question is can I use two piece rings, like the badger ordnance...
Thanks for the reassurance on Colt's quality. I'm leaning toward an O1991 now and am shopping. Looks like about what I want, and it's a fair bit cheaper than the STI too.
Hi,
I'm looking to buy a quality 1911 just to have one in the collection - don't really plan to shoot or carry it but I'd like to have a pistol in .45 in the safe just because and/or for if something weird happened and only .45 acp was available. I'd like it to be a "quintessential" 1911 but...
Just got back. It rained both days on and off but it was actually better than the typical 105+ degrees in my opinion.
My thumbs just about exploded from loading 2000+ rounds in magazines for the two of us (she loaded what she could but has trouble topping mags off to max capacity).
I...
The only thing I'd focus on now is high-cap (over 10 round) mags if you don't already have enough. It's obvious what's going to happen in the upcoming election.
It's next weekend, I'll report back. Doing a lot of bill drills and other exercises with the compact to get ready; introducing the wife to drawing from a holster etc.
6 is good. 4" groups all day at 25 yards with the RMR07 6 MOA dot on my M&P 40 core. A 3 MOA dot might tighten that up a little but in my experience most pistols without fixed barrels aren't mechanically good for much more than 3" (5 shot groups, averaged) at 25 yards anyway.
