Just be aware.. once fired brass doesn't always mean "Just once fired" brass! I've had generally good luck but once I had a reputable seller send me a box of "once fired" stuff that was MANY times fired! Black as hell inside the cases and lose pockets... man was I pissed.
Well... I just chrono'd some loads with my G34, Power Pistol, WSP, 1.130" COL and 124gr Berrys bullets. I'm very suprised at the volocities I'm getting out the of the Glock compared to my Sig and M&P. Longer barrel makes a huge difference.
6.0gr PP 1211 ft/s ave, 150 PF
5.8gr PP 1170...
I've used 6.0 and 5.8 PP with Berrys 124gr bullets. 6.0gr is about 133PF and I'm pretty sure 5.8 is over 125 too I haven't checked.
I like the loads although the flash seems more pronounced like you mentioned. I like it in .40 S&W as well but don't remember my loads.
Thanks highlander... that makes sense as the groves are real big for cannelures! So... is that why lead rounds seem to smoke more than jacketed? Grease smoking as opposed to the lead.
Damn they do look nice. Never done it but with prices the way they are who knows. First I became a brass whore... next a wheel weight whore?
Once question- why do lead bullets always seem to have cannelures on them? As opposed to most plated and FMJ I see without anything.
Here's my analysis:
WWB .45ACP/1000 $320
Other brands are more/1000
Homemade/1000 $163
Brass Free or almost Free
Powder $15
Primers $25
Berrys 230gr Plated RN $123
I save over $150/1000.... and I go thru a lot. ;)
However... I really wish more people didn't see a savings...
H- if the bullet are the correct diameter and you are reasonably sure the 3 types of brass aren't 10 years old I'd say get another sizing die. Like I said... it could be you have the incorrect insert in the die.
1911user is on the money. I've found similar problems with R&P brass... no problems with any other brass in .45ACP. There is a slight possibility that the sizing die is on the large size of the acceptable tolerance, I've had this happen before with my Hornady die- it may have been a .45 Colt...
I do something quite similar to donttellthewife except I just use the tray that comes with the RCBS hand primer and them flip them. Very easy.
Also... sometimes with the Small Pistol primers you can grab them directly from the tray with the pick up tubes. The LP don't seem to have the...
In many cases people seem to have the need to justify their purchases by bashing other products. Weird. I have a LNL and wish I could try a Dillon for comparison to REALLY see how they compare. I think it's great that Dillon has a great competitor now... it's good for ALL of us... there's the...
