Bought 1,000 rds of L7A1 subgun ammo at a gunshow 3 years ago.Ran it all through a bone stock Sig P228 with no problems or wear.(Not till it was long gone did I find out it was subgun loads)I'd imagine the full size P226 would eat it up just fine as well.

By best firearms maker i'd assume you mean all their products are top shelf.Springfield Armory has great rifles and superb pistols with lifetime warranties and great customer service.If they were to add a nice defensive shotgun they'd be unstoppable as a one stop defensive firearms maker.

My bone stock stainless 10/22T topped with a Redfield will make one ragged hole all day long.

I use M14 5rd strippers in mine with no problem. Their abit loose so you want to make sure your thumb is well to the rear of the cartridge as you strip it into the gun but otherwise your'e golden.
