    Pump Action .22

I will tell you that my Taurus Model 62 is a good gun. It is a stainless steel rifle and has been flawless in function from the first round to the most recent. The over all accuracy is sufficient. I can hit soda cans at 25 yards with ease. I am very pleased with it. I have bought two new...

    Best candidate for a take-down .22 rifle

The Taurus Model 62 is not a semi Auto. It is a pump action rifle. I have one in stainless steel and it is a very robust rifle. In fact, I just got back from the farm with mine. I put up a poster board with 12 3 inch targets on it at 25 yards and fired 9 types of ammo through it. (resting on the...

"I hate guns...but do you have one for me?"

You disarmed yourself, putting yourself and those around you in danger, because this silly woman doesn't like guns and so that you could go camping with your g/f?

Scopes can add to shooting success

Stinkyshoe: What I mean is that I am a clutz. If I were to leave a scope on my rifles, I would destroy it in no time.

What is the most reliable semi-auto rifle of all time?

I think that there is a factor that is being overlooked in this discussion. That is accuracy. A rifle that will go boom everytime is of no value if it is incapable of hitting the target. I would put my M1A, or my Garand, or my FNs up against any AK or SKS in a shooting competition. I would...

Scopes can add to shooting success

I use a scope for load development, but I use irons for my other shooting. There is a pragmatic reason for this. I have two hams on the end of my wrists and scopes are too delicate for ME to have on a rifle. This is the same reason that I don't have wooden stocks on my rifles either.

    Favorite .45 Brass to Reload

I have a Dillon 550B progressive press. I use a variety of 45ACP brass that I have aquired here and there. Some of it is range pick ups, but most of it is brass that I have bought when a bargain presented itself. Because of the proximity of the factory, the bulk of my brass is Remington. I...

    My new baby is here!

Congratulations on your aquisition. I am familiar with SAKO only by what I have heard and read, which is actually very little. But, what I have heard/read leads me to believe that they are fine rifles. Let us know how she shoots when you get a chance.

    Hypothetical U.S. Service Rifle

We should have kept the M14 and instead of spending a gazillion dollars adopting new rifles, ammo, magazines, manuals, yada yada yada, use that money to teach soldiers and MARINES how to shoot the damned thing better. * as an aside, have you noticed that the current M16A2 weighs as much...

    30-06 ammo for a Garand

I made an adjustable gas system for my Garand. It is very simple and it has opened up a whole new world of shooting for this old warrior ( the rifle, not me) Imagine a standard M 1 gas plug that has been drilled and tapped fore to aft through the center. An allen head set screw is screwed...

    If you had no rifles...

Assuming that I was suddenly without a rifle, I would duplicate what I have now. M 1 Garand F A L Lever action 22 50 cal muzzle loader K98k Mauser Of course if I knew "then" what I know now, I would have registered a dozen class 3 F A Ls and AR 15's.
