Nature Boy, I love the 358 Win. I have a Browning lever in 358. Unfortunately the 358 is only available in the AR-10.

This gun will be used to hunt WV, so both calibers would be legal. Right now I am leaning towards the 450 bushmaster. 1) It fires the cheaper pistol bullets for plinking. 2) If I would ever decide to start hunting in Ohio I would have a gun. Thanks for all the replies.

Thanks for the replies. I do most of my hunting in WV, so either one would be legal there.

I was wanting to stay away from 50 caliber because of availability and selection of bullets.

I was thinking 45 caliber. Are some .452 pistol bulletts and some .458 rifle bullets?

I would like a large bore AR-15 compatible caliber. this would mainly be used for deer hunting.

The club I belong to has had several guns donated to it.

I have tried a lot of different bullets in my BLR. I will try the Speer 220 gr and see if I can get better accuracy.

At our club we have homemade bags filled with spent primers.

My son bought a 243 a little over a year ago. We bought some factory for it so that we have the brass. Before that, 4 or 5 years ago a guy at the gun club had a box of 38's and a box of 357's. The price was less than I could reload them for, so I bought them.

I assume that the target was at 100 yards?

I down loaded a 358 Win with H4895 for my son. I used jacketed pistol bullets.
