    CZ-75 .40 Questions

Witness mags in the .40 cal CZ can work well. It depends on the bullet and OAL of the cartridge that is being used.

    Optics Hall of Shame

Simmons...oh yeah I forgot about those pieces of feces. I tried to give one away for the cost of shipping and had no takers. Threw it away.

    Optics Hall of Shame

Tascos aren't the worst in the lot. My dad bought one in the 60s - when Japanese anything was comparable to Chinese anything nowadays - and I still use it on a beater .22. I have also had good luck with American Optical/Bushnell. I prefer Leupold on my pricier pieces.

    Uber sexy .22s

I have a pair of Walther GSPs - one in .22 LR and the other in .32 S&W Long. From a Ransom Rest they are as accurate as the ammo that goes through them.

    Good noise cancelling ear muffs

Wolf Ears are good and use compression instead of noise cancelling. I don't remember what I paid for them since it was a few years ago. They also have an amplifier mode that is great for eavesdropping if you're into that sort of thing.

Grip Plate screw and washer, Sig P232

I assume a 232 uses a similar design as the 228 and company. If so, I would purchase 3 or 4 trigger return springs. Those are always handy to have around.

Sigarms should have the parts. http://www.sigarms.com/about/contact.shtml Regards, Martin

    FYI:P7 refurbs on the way...

The last batch of P7M8 refurbs that came in from the German police had the milled slide. The one I picked up for $700 had the milling of the German police emblem in the wrong place - the emblem was/is still there. I wouldn't be pouncing on this batch until you know more. Too many unknowns...

    Case trimmer

I have had a Forster for a few years and didn't care for it much, but, got a great deal on it. Picked up a Wilson and its the cat's meow. Just no comparison to the Forster.

How do you buy your Starline Brass: 38 Special??

I don't shoot much .38 Special, but, bought direct from Starline. I opted for 500 pieces instead of 1000. That will do me the rest of my life I'm sure. I stay the hell away from the dirtbags at the gun shows selling once fired brass and prefer same lot stuff.

What does WD-40 look like when its really old?

Moparmike, You should be fine with the Hoppes Gun Oil. It really is nothing much more than a good grade mineral oil. If you plan on shooting the gun and not storing it for a few years you will be ok. As for the bore use of the oil, a drop or two on a patch through the bore is sufficient...

    Copper Solvent?

Sweets is probably the strongest out there. I use Shooter's Choice - copper solvent version. I use it every time I shoot my rifles and blast it out with Gunscrubber. Don't leave copper solvent in the barrel any longer than the directions for the product. The ammonia will etch the barrel...

What does WD-40 look like when its really old?

I, too, am a firm disbeliever in CLP and have seen it work its magic too many times. I can't say I use WD-40 on firearms. I pretty much stick to Balistol for a light lube and also with a rag to wipe the exteriors of guns off. The stuff has been around 100 years and still works great -...
