    I've seen old Russian WWII news/propaganda films in which you can see soldiers giving bolt handles a sharp hit to get them rotated up. Did the broken bolt require that kind of treatment to operate?

    Good choice. I believe that gun can do most of the vital things we have guns for. You'll never outgrow a good 22 auto.
