FS: Boker Speed Lock II Automatic Knife - [D/FW, TX]

Carried quite a bit but never really used to cut much. The blade has never been sharpened and is still almost shaving sharp. There are many carry scratches on the knife which cannot be seen in the photos. The sheath has never been used. The action is quick and locks up nicely. $60 picked up at...

Dad just gave me my Grandpappys gun

My favorite pistol. Be aware, they are not safe to carry with a round chambered. They have been known to fire if dropped, with at least one fatality that I've heard of. Nice pistol. Mine was manufactured in 1904 and I shoot it often. -Matt

Internet Ad - FTF Sale Only

I can think of several really good reasons: 1) Many people don't feel comfortable with their knowledge of the applicable firearms laws with regard to how they must ship and what they must disclose, and which carriers they may use for a hand gun vs a long gun. 2) Many people don't want to mess...

Don't stop and help people on the side of the road

Precisely my thoughts! From a strategic standpoint such action is riddled with problems. I've got a feeling the same is true from a legal standpoint. -Matt

Don't stop and help people on the side of the road

In post #20: Is that even legal? Without a positively identified threat, wouldn't that be brandishing? I don't know, and I assume it would vary according to the state law in which it occurred. Any opinions on that? -Matt

Yes, USPS would indeed take it. IF I wanted to give them a chance to lose/damage it. :) -Matt

Texas Long Gun Sale with Third Party Pickup

Thanks, Frank. I have no reason to believe the buyer is prohibited or is a non-resident. I didn't ask, but without any cause to suspect, it's not my concern. The reason for the friend picking up the rifle is that his friend is often in Dallas through his normal course of business. -Matt

Texas Long Gun Sale with Third Party Pickup

Thanks guys. My reasoning was exactly the same as Sam and Tom. I wasn't aware of any prohibition as long as I had no reason to suspect the guy wasn't a resident or disallowed person. Again, thanks, guys! -Matt

Texas Long Gun Sale with Third Party Pickup

I had a guy respond to an ad I had for a rifle. He is in Austin and I'm in Dallas. He wanted to have a friend pay for and pick up the rifle since his friend is often in the Dallas area. I know that would be a no-no on a new gun purchase, but wasn't sure what to think on a person-to-person (well...

    A.b.c. Always be carrying!!!

So you'd kill the guy, ask questions later, and if you were wrong you'd throw the poor guy's carcass in the swamp? Yet another "high road" statement, indeed. (Sarcasm.) -Matt

    A.b.c. Always be carrying!!!

In a very limited way, specifically with regard to your right to carry immediately to and from your vehicle, yes, your vehicle is an extension of your home. But unless the law has changed in the last couple of years, you *do not* have the right to shoot someone stealing your property unless it...

    A.b.c. Always be carrying!!!

Firstly, in the Great State of Texas, the street in front of your house is not "your property". Secondly... Are you actually saying you would shoot a teenager for opening your car's door, sitting in the seat and demanding to be driven somewhere? That statement alarms me, and honestly, I...

    Doctors need/want to know.

I'm just guessing those "contracts" don't provide relief for the patient's lost time when the patient has to wait for the doctor for an hour. I'll also bet these "contracts" don't provide relief for the patient for *anything* the doctor may do wrong. The whole idea of such a contract is so...
