Make a spacer to fill the space between the 870 barrel ring lug and the end of the PP mag tube. It will need to fit snug around the mag tube and be the correct length so the mag cap will hold it down tight and the correct OD as well. PVC, Aluminum and steel will work. GC

The Pardner Pump, Hawk 982 and the new Stevens 350 are all very well made Chiense shotguns for the money. The Stevens 350 Ithaca 37 style shotgun is the highest quality of the three. It's a step above and a heck of a deal. GC

You should clean the inside of your mag tube periodically. Give it a very light coat of oil. If a galvanic reaction could happen it would take a "very" long time under extreme conditions. The problem you will have if you leave shells under pressure in a mag tube for long periods is the...

I might would go with the Mossberg 590A1 18.5" over the Protector but not the 500 mainly because of sealed mag tube on the 500. The 590 cost over twice as much though. GC

The follower in the SPX is a HQ steel follower. I wouldn't change it. There is nothing wrong with the Choate tube extension either. I would change the mag tube spring out for Wolff universal 12Ga spring cut to 28" and bend the cut ends down so they are level with the lower coil. The SPX...

The mag tube on the 500 ends under barrel ring. It has a shorter overall length than the 590 which goes through the barrel ring. 590 has a clean-out mag tube and the 500 has sealed one. GC

The chamber problem goes back a few years before Ceberus took over. Remington was 200 million in debt when they were bought out. It hasn't gotten any better since Cerberus. GC

If I depended on doing working on them to make a living I would be dirt poor. They have a very low return rate, Very few ever have problems. I bet you are blast to have beer with. :rolleyes: GC

It would need to go back to Remington NEF for repair not China. I am sure I could have it running smooth in about 30 mins. GC
