3/4 MOA wobble area means about 3/4 " at 100 yards , as you know. I don't think it's possible to shoot groups smaller than your wobble area, except by pure luck. That is the exact reason I want to reduce it. It must be the way I interact with this rifle on the bench, because I don't see wobble...

I always check and adjust parallax before starting my session. I'm a firm believer in parallax adjustable scopes.

I have a plastic stocked Marlin .17 HMR , which seems very accurate , but my groups seem to be handicapped by the crosshairs shaking, everytime my heart beats. Any suggestions how to eliminate this? I am using a tripod front rest with a leather bag on it and a rear leather sandbag.

Thank you, sage 5907 and LoonWulf, I believe you guys are correct. You have solved a mystery that many gun shops could not. Now I can try to hunt down an action for the stock. Your help was appreciated.

Update: Compared it to a Weatherby at a LGS and the guard screws jive. The bolt handle cut out on this stock comes straight down, someone suggested that may have some importance in identifying it.
