I bought mine at a police auction for $21 back in the 60s. I didn't get a lot of warm and fuzzies shooting it. My son liked it. Hasn't been shot for almost 40 years.

My take is that the OP was just passing on his "find". If he likes it who are we to criticize?

I've only been to one auction, a crowded police auction of seized weapons. People were bidding higher than new prices to get their own used guns back. I left.

While I recognize the value of safes, I went with an ADT alarm system, with interior motion, breaking glass (windows) and all entry door sensors. If the alarm is not disarmed within 60 seconds, ADT calls for the disarm code, failing that, the police (less than 5 minutes away) are notified...

I do not hunt or engage in competition. I collect...a lot. After I shoot, I never know exactly when I will ever shoot them again. So, I clean each handgun, shotgun or rifle thoroughly and put them back in storage..

From what little I could find online, they were cambered in the '92 calibers, except for the 38-40.

Thank you. I sometimes see 53s on GB and externally they appear identical to the 92s. Personally, I don't see how they could improve on the 92s.

Could someone please explain the difference(s) between the Model 53 and the Model 92.

Has anyone checked the Starline site recently? I do it sporadically. Yesterday, they only showed three calibers that were readily available...none of which I could use. If I remember correctly, previous posts here inferred Starline was cranking up production. Anyone have any knowledge of what...

I reload, but after reading Spats McGee's article up in Legal I have chosen to load only factory ammo for my carry gun(s). Might be worth a look.

I began with a SW 442 primarily for its small size for pocket carry.. Later, I reconsidered being limited to five rounds and reviewed the options of semi-autos with safeties. Being a lefty, I finally settled.on the Sig 365 because it offered an ambidextrous safety, small size, 12+1 9mm capacity...

I always go through the seller's ratings, especially the reasons for any negative ratings, and if the seller responded to the rating(s). How the seller handles (or not) complaints can be illuminating.
