Attended An Active Shooter Training - AT MY CHURCH!

Our Sunday morning service usually runs about 250-300 people, of those I know for sure about 18 who are always armed including the pastor. We started sponsering an annual CCW class about three years ago and have had three so far with attendance of between 25-40 students each class. We are in a...

Don't mess with older Texans. See here.

I don't believe this is unique to Texas but is the norm across the country. I was in my 50's when my state finally got CCW passed and I was able to legally carry. And it seems as if the older and more world-wise folks are the first to take advantage of the process.

Does a national incident change your carry habits?

No change...carry everywhere, all the time.

What gun/guns have you been reluctant to buy that turned out to be your favorite?

Same story. Have fired several friends Glocks, XD's, etc, never cared much for the polymer guns but I work outside alot and sweat alot and was constantly fighting rust with my steel guns, so I decided to try the S&W Shield. Once I put the APEX trigger kit in it I absolutely love it, and it has...

    the Taurus PT92

I have had a PT99 (the 92 with adjustable rear sight) for over twenty years and it is still one of my favorite "all day" shooters. It also is my IDPA pistol. I find it too large for CCW but know a couple of guys who do carry theirs routinely. Contratulations on a fine pistol and enjoy. I...

Has the P938 not been very popular?

Thats true Prince. I carried both the P238 and the P938 IWB in a Crossbreed. They both fit the same holster and the Crimson Trace laser fits both as well.

Has the P938 not been very popular?

They are very popular in my part of Kansas. I traded my 238 for the 938 as soon as the local gun shop got one, and I absolutely love it. I think the price does keep some who would like one at bay.

Gun Stuff You No Longer See

I grew up in Lorton, Va, in the southern part of Fairfax County and can remember as a 14-15 year old riding the bus into downtown Alexandria to Ye Olde Hunter (Interarms) which was right on the Potomoc river. We spent hours looking at all of the surplus rifles that we couldn't afford (the...

    Cross eye dominant.

I am left handed and right eye dominant, but I didn't know about eye dominance growing up so I hunted with rifle and shotgun left handed and had no problems. When I went to basic training in 1973 we did the eye dominance drill and when I was determined to be right eye dominant the DS took my...

Calgary Flooding and Gun Seizures by RCMP (mini-New Orleans/Katrina)

By the comments left on the first article linked it would seem that an unsettling number of people agree with what the RCMP did and think that it was prudent for them to do so. How sad.

What is the last gun that you bought?

Also being shipped right now. Smith & Wesson CS 45, Blue, w/original box and two mags.

    STAR 30M 9mm Holsters

I too am a Southpaw and have a Star 30M. Great range pistol and combat type full size firearm, but try as I might I just can't comfortably find a way to carry it. I carry IWB and the best holster that I have found is one that I made (Supertuck clone) by molding my own kydex to fit. Even with...

Ammo shortage over, mostly, for me at least

I hear ya Sniper66, I check Topeka, Manhattan, Junction City, and Salina regularly and they are just getting in dribbles of the popular calibers. Plenty of .270, 300 Win Mag, 30-06, etc, but just the occasional case of 9mm, .45, .38, or .22, and that is gone within minutes. But its good to...
