One of the most surprising aspects of the Shield 40 is the control-ability of the little gun. I was completely taken off guard by this at the first shooting, I was expecting huge recoil and flip but I got was mild thump and quick settling.
Maybe in competition shooting where 10th's of a second...
I have an M&P Shield and G23 in .40. I love them both but the Shield gets the most use. The Smith is just much easier to carry and have on hand while having the same "shoot-ability" and reliability as the Glock.
I appendix carry and just recently picked up this new Blade-Tech for my Shield
Klipt Revolution IWB holster.
I have to say the Klipt is excellent, perfect fit, coverage and retention. The holster itself is extremely thin and light without feeling chinsy, its very well made. A nice touch is...
I've got a chance to pick up this slightly used late production RIA Tactical for $350....It looks like 1911 should with the plain slide, I'm very close to pulling the trigger on this one.
4 stars....had to subtract one for looks hehehhe ;)
The G23 is my go to gun for everything. I carry it pretty much all the time, it is in the night stand for HD and it gets the most range time.
I picked up a used gen3 G23(with n/s and two mags) for $450 last month just because I felt like getting a .40. Turns out the G23 is an outstanding shooter, I shoot it dead on and could go all day with the gun, recoil and flip are negligible. I even started carrying the G23, normally I have...
Both are excellent and reliable shooters....I'm guessing you're not one of those people that choosing between M&P or Glock is a cut & dry choice.
So as a pure shooter the 40c has the advantage being a larger and heavier gun....but...What makes the 40c more pleasant to shoot is lost vs. the 27 in...
I've got a H&R Pardner Protector 12g I snagged for $145 off the used rack. This shotgun has never been fired, it was still in the factory oil....
I thought it would make the prefect plain & simple HD/SHTF shottie.
My camera is borked, but since its stock(except for a sling) and will stay...
I recently bought a NIB 870 with an 18.5" barrel that had a sight canted way left(which I didn't notice until I got it home :banghead: )
I never did find out what the actual issue was but Remington did quickly fix the problem.
Glock 26
With all the new laws here in CT and the purchase of a new Harley this year, I decided it was time to cut down to one gun(for a while, anyway). I needed a "do everything" handgun, so I sold off just about everything until I was down to the Glock 26 and Ruger SR9c.....As much as I liked...
Thanks for the replies....I ordered a set of XS Big Dots today. I had them on a G19 I sold awhile ago. The sights were quick and I had no problems using them but I never carried that gun, it just saw use on the range, so I never fully appreciated the Big Dots.
This G26 is strictly carry and...
I'm not sure what I want to go with on my G26....Standard 3dot, True-Glo TFO, Ameriglo Idot, XS Big Dot, Trij HD etc ....so many choices :banghead:
Help me out with some ideas and comments... thx
