The Dark Tower battle with moon clips!

Yeah, IMFDb. I completely forgot to look there, thanks. Interesting that they are .38's. In the movie he robs a gun dealer for ammo. He says he wants .45 caliber and spots a bunch of loaded moons on a belt. I thought they looked a bit "roomy" on the clips but.... In the books he used .45LC, IIRC.

The Dark Tower battle with moon clips!

Just saw the movie. No, it didn't bear any resemblance at all to the books. The fun part was watching the big battle in which Roland uses .45 moon clips, even reloading in the air! Fun stuff. Didn't even need to modify his guns for them, wow! I didn't see anything about Ranch Products in the...

    Bullets for Bowling Pins (45ACP)

Yes, the RN 230 does the work just fine. I tried several different styles of bullet. My recipe is a RN 230 5.8 w231. It clocks about 820-830 and if I hit the pin right (upper third below the stripes) they leave the table nicely. The bullet NEARLY penetrates the pin.

    Gamo Whisper help

I get excellent results with the Whisper, a cheap but stable red-dot, and RWS Meister 8.2's as posted above. Inside 30 yds the thing rules the bushy-tailed enemy. At some point I will do a page of chrono data on a selection of the pellets I've tried. Still too crappy out there.

    Air Gun Newbie

Take a look at the Gamo GP's. I have been using their "Silent Cat" (.177) I got on sale last year. I put an inexpensive red-dot on it and WOW! this thing really delivers with some dialling in. I use the RWS 8.2 gr pellets. Very pleased with this thing.

    Colt single-action go boom!

Those big, old-time cases are easy to make mistakes with, too. Was the bullet still in the barrel?

9mm case length, once-fired brass already too short?

THIS ^^^^ Over 25 years of loading the 9's, I've never had to trim cases.

My Kimber k6s 357 Magnum Revolver

It stages like an old Dan Wesson? I really liked that feature of the action.

Educate a newbie: why buy new brass?

Very simple, . If I can't get once-fired, I'll buy as little new as I have to. Guy's gotta shoot. It's the price of the component bullets that kills me. I have no interest in casting my own lead. One other thing about new brass, though: I know it's history.

    Anyone using the Redding die

I assume we're talking about that excessive "bulge" alleged to happen in certain barrels? Nice tool for a nag of a problem(if ya get a lot of brass like that). BTW does all or most of said brass have a squareish mark on the fired primer where it's struck? Josh
