dude go on northeast shooters and ask about this, or do some searches. Yes it is worth getting, non residents get it through the state police, and you don't have to register guns you carry. You do have to abide by capacity limits and MA laws while carrying in the state though.

I have a sig 1911 TTT, Colt 70 series .38 super, and a scandium framed sw1911pd and the sw shoots just as well as the sig and the colt, never had any issues.

You can put a standard A2 style wood stock on an m&p but its not NY compliant. To stay ny compliant you would have to custom make a spprter style stock with no pistol grip.The only thing off thr shelf I know of that accomplishes what you are thinking of is the ARES SCR with a wood stock.

10w Hydraulic oil, 5w air tool oil. Idk why you would want to thin it. I use 75w-90 marine gear oil on my 1911 slide rails and other high wear areas. Works as good as anything and a quarts lasts a long time.
