Thanks, guys.
I've got a Aero 7.7 oz buffer kit. The Toolcraft 9mm BCG is listed at 14.4 oz, which puts it in the range recommended in your link, BreechFace. It also is only few tenths of an oz less than the Aero BCG.
I've started collecting parts for a 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbine. Decided on Aero Precision. Plan to complete it as featureless.
AIM surplus recently had parts on sale, so I picked up a 16" "complete" upper (complete in this case does not include the BCG or charging handle), buffer kit and LPK...
I've got two large ring Mauser sporter profile barrels. They are marked as being .270 caliber. The breech faces are marked "R" with some other squiggly mark on it.
Anyone have any ideas on who the original barrel maker was?
My son purchased a Rock Island armory FS 1911 in .38 super. He also bought a RIA 9mm barrel that is not quite drop in.
Anyone able to recommend any 1911 gunsmiths in the Sacramento/bay Area to do a barrel fitting?
No magnets, just mass holding the silhouettes.
I guess it is theoretically possible for a bullet to come back and hit a shooter, but in nearly 15 years of shooting this match I've never heard of that happening. The closest targets are the chickens and they are at 220 yards..
Shooters expect to "ring a ram" (hit a silhouette but not knock it over), but they weigh about 60 lbs and are 550 yards away. Nobody expects to ring a pig.
I'm lucky to live near and be a member of an excellent shooting range complex. It has about 15 different ranges from 50 yard small bore to 1000 long range. My sons and I shoot in several different matches...a "vintage military silhouette match" which involves shooting chicken, pig, turkey and...
I went to the range this morning to shoot the weekly .22 match. Today it was a 50yard match.
After the match, I shot various brands of .22 ammunition through the Wifama. I was pleasantly surprised at how it shot, especially with the RWS R50.
Nothing shot badly. Five shot groups at 50 yards...
Since I started shooting in a "mini Palma" match, I've been going through the safe getting my old .22's out. I bought this 1957 Cugir years ago and somehow never shot it. I intend to remedy that.
Thanks, guys!
I was digging around in my miscellaneous gun stuff and found this old scope. A few years ago I bought a K31 with a Swiss Products scope mount and an old Tasco 6-24 scope on it.
I was not much interested in the scope, so I dismounted the scope and mount and threw it in a box. I...
