What powder measure are you using now? Most companies offer a smaller rotor/drum to help with the smaller charges. I have the RCBS Uniflow and with the small rotor in it, I have no problems throwing sub 3gr charges of bullseye with it.
Although I currently reload for over 10 calibers I still get that nervous first time feeling every time I shoot reloads for a new caliber. Glad to hear yours shot well and you still have all digits to be able to type about it. :)
Same here. I've got a whole clip full of them! I used to use them for marking loads in the case during load development but have since found a better method.
I stick the labels that come with the MTM cases on the case and then cover it with clear packing tape. Then I fill in all the info with a "WET" erase marker. When I'm done with that box or need to change some info, I simply moisten a napkin and wipe it off. Just remember to get the WET erase...
Here's a great site showing how much lead is required to hit targets on a skeet field. I always show this to new shooters to demonstrate shooting in front of targets.

Buy one gun that does it all, Remington Versamax. This thing shoots everything from extra light target loads to full bore 3 1/2" magnum duck loads without a hiccup.
I've got a very long throated Remmy 700 and I've found my best accuracy comes from loading as close to the lands as I can. Usually about .005-.010 off.
