Has anyone tried these stocks they are beautiful

Yup. I've got quite a few of them, and they're excellent. I have never been able to get comfortable behind a wooden stock (started shooting competitively with the AR-15 as a service rifle), so the tube guns feel more like what I'm used to. I have, however, run across a few folks who couldn't...

    Shooting jacket suggestions

Other than price, and lead time, it's really hard to argue with the fit of a made-to-measure coat. I've got a Monard (for high power) that's just amazing. I used a Freeland coat for a while (the $175ish one). I liked it, but it got really soft pretty quick, and lost almost all the support it...

    school science project

You could try this: http://www.modernballistics.com/download.htm and running the trajectory calculations for standard and high velocity .22 ammo. It'd also tell you the time-of-flight for each.

    6mm-250?

you also might want to try looking into NRA high power sites... a bunch of the match rifle shooters use a cartridge, 6XC (for across the course) that is the 22-250 necked up to 6mm. nationalmatch.us would be a good place to start. Or, google 6mmXC and see what the hive-mind has to say about it...

Help with choosing a NM AR15, please.

Let me second the WOA option. I really like the 1:7 wilson barrel. Mine's got almost 4000 rounds on it from last season, and it still shot the best X-count at 600 (9x) I had all season in the last match. Another nice thing (though I'm sure you could swap out parts to do this on another upper) is...

    What High Pressure Looks Like

Here's a picture of SFC Singley's 200 sitting group from the NTI this year. He ended up third.

    Compound Bow Question

Good, someone mentioned B&B. I got my bow there a couple seasons ago, and I was pretty impressed with them.

What competition can I use this for?

You could use it in F-Class. (A subset of high power competition.) If you put non-optical sights* on it (which wouldn't be cheap) then you could use it as a match rifle in NRA high power. * the front sight clamps on the end of the barrel, no need to change your front sight base. The rear can...

What is your "best ever" shot?

Last weekend, high power rifle clinic. I had zeroed my AR at 100 yards with my 600 slow-fire loads then used Joe Huffman's program to calculate the drop and windage/mph at 600 yards. Put the come-up on my sights, and the coach gave me the windage: zilch. Shot. Target disappears. Comes up X at...

    CZ 452 Lux ammo

the bulk CCI ammo (Can't remember the name, "Blazer" maybe) that I got at Sports Authority for $8 a brick a year or so ago shoots great. I shot in a small bore match once with my Trainer model and that el-cheapo ammo and finished in *next* to last place, beating out one guy with an Anshutz. :)...

    Northern VA reloading supply source?

Guns & Ammo in Manassas (on 28, just south of 234) carries powder and primers --that's where I usually go Clark Brothers in Warrenton (on 29, just north of rt. 17) has a pretty good selection, but I remember their prices being kind of high. Gilbert's Small Arms in Lorton/Springfield has a...

    If you could...M1

Okay, I'll play along... An adjustable gas port so I can use heavier bullets and slower powders. (Or does the M14 have that in its gas system, and thus I'm just being repetitive?)

Getting ready to purchase a Chronograph [?'s]

I've got an Alpha Master chrony that works quite nicely. Since you know a thing or two about statistics, unless you really want the convenience, the more expensive ones won't do much for you. (They'll do mean, max, min, SD, etc.) The master (separate LCD display) is quite helpful. One of these...

    .22LR AR15 Uppers

I've been pretty impressed with the DPMS one I bought a few weeks back to practice with for high-power. I'm not tearing up the X-ring of the MR-31 target by any stretch of the imagination, but when I screw up, the hole's in the direction that I screwed up in, so I'm the limiting factor and it's...

(HPR) Where did all the Sharpshooters & Experts Go?

I'm one of 'em. Well, I will be. I guess I'm an "Unclassified/Master" until the end of the first match this spring. I went to a clinic last weekend and had way too much fun. We only shot at 200 yards, (and only at the SR target for all stages) but for the stages that use the SR at 200, I shot an...
