Well let's assume I'm not going into desert-like conditions with this gun.
I didn't want to start an opinionated thread, just was wondering what you would need and the eventual price.
I don't see myself in a position where the side charging handle would be much of issue because of it being an larger hole where dirt and etc can get in.
I was actually going with the side charger on the right.
I was thinking of something like the Scar or Sig 556 but their aren't ARs and you...
You should probably stay away from Century made guns, the company has badly made guns and on top of that terrible customer service.
I don't know of any other manufacturers of the Yugo.
The Inter Ordinance aren't supposed to be the greatest either.
Lancaster, Krebs, and Saiga built AKs are...
You should really look at Les Baer.
I don't know if $3,500 is in your budget but their semi-auto match rifle (AR) is guaranteed to shoot sub-half-moa with five shots.
Their bolt action is about the same price and is guaranteed to shoot sub-half-moa with ten shots.

I'm unaware if that is still a problem though.
Century's customer service and quality in itself has been somewhat...

I also searched the DPMS website for "side charger" and the three uppers in the link was all that popped up. I only know of two or three other manufacturers of side charged...
I am new to ARs and it sounds like a good hunting, defense, and all around kind of gun.
I am wanting to build an AR with a side charging handle with most likely this upper.

I was wondering what other parts do you need to get to build an...
