I'm looking for an OWB holster that I can carry my short K frames in. I have a 3" Model 10, 3" Model 65 and a 2.75" 66-8. I have a holster given to me by a THR member for my Model 10, but the 66-8 won't fit with it's underlug. I would be happy with one of Rob's Simply Rugged Sourdoughs, but I'm...
I bought an identical 66 last month. It is with Nelson Ford now, getting an action job and replacementfront sight. I'm looking forward to getting her back.
I shot 21 rounds of 325gr over H110 out of my .454 SRH last week. My trigger finger was cut to the point I gave up on the last 3 in the cylinder, lol. I definitely need to have it worked over and get the trigger radiused.
I went to the range yesterday and shot 150rds of .38 spl through my 3" model 10-8 and 4" model 65-4. 158gr SWC over true blue which were unsurprisingly accurate and smooth shooting. I need to buy new grips for both, as the rubber pachmayrs aren't in great shape.
I would have laughed at that a few years ago. After finally buying a beater model 65, I saw the light and went looking for a 10. They are the only K frames I've ever handled, I am addicted now though.
Clark does .460 rowland conversions on them too, but that is well outside the recommended pressure of 32,000psi. The super appears to fall under that though.
According to which source you pick, a Smith can handle thousands of full-tilt 300gr silhouette loads or get shot loose after a few hundred factory 240s. Both may well be correct, considering the tolerance deviation over the years. I've seen guys that have hunted with a Model 25, shooting heavy...
The first 3 replies to your initial post answered question number one. All N frames after the late-80s have it done from the factory. You can look up your particular model and see what each - # signifies. They are typically minor "upgrades", such as frame design, switch to MIM parts or ILS. The...
Skeeter/Keith loads might be supersonic from a 16" barrel. That's my primary formula for my flat top blackhawk. I haven't tried them through the rifle for some reason.
Before I started loading my own, I used BB .44 spl wadcutters in this rifle. They fed perfectly and were quiet. Curiously, my .45acp bolt gun was noticeably quieter than the 77/44 with subs.
