    broke with tradition

Hurry up and shoot it. I'd like to know what difference there is, if any, between a conversion revolver and an 1873 45 Colt. I've never even seen a conversion revolver for sale so don't know much about them.

    knives made from files

    Definitely a nice blade.

Alright, what do you all think 1911 decision?

I have a Kimber Custom II and a Ronin Commander, but both in 9mm. I think I like the Ronin better but not sure why ( maybe just because I like the Commander size).

    New (Old) Traditions.....in 44

I won this little beauty on GB, was the only bidder. A Traditions SAA by Pietta in 44 magnum. When it arrived I discovered that the gun was not safe to shoot in its condition. The cylinder did not lock up on 3 chambers and would rotate left to right while the hammer was pulled back or at rest...

    624 3” vs 625 MTN .45 Colt?

@vanfunk I don't see a right or wrong choice. But if I had my preference it would be the mountain gun simply because it seem (to me) to be the one I would choose for woods carry. But I have a 4" model 24 so I'm good.

    Two of S&W best ever

Good thing this thread is about two of the very best and not the two very best or this argument could come to fisticuffs. We are passionate about our S&Ws. I might argue for the M 17 though I have never fired one but would dearly love to have one.

    pistol caliber rifles/carbines

I sure wish someone (Rossi maybe)would make a PCC in 41 mag. I know Marlin did in the past but those are high price unicorns now.

    I guess I'll keep it

That gun must have been a safe queen for the last 97 years. The bluing looks almost perfect.

    New toy Rossi R95

Went to a sporting goods store today and saw 2 r95s , one in 30-30 and a 45-70. Both were really nice with good wood to metal fitment. And at $839 I thought I might have to beg my wife for some advance funds for the 45-70. But, alas. I am in town for an operation tomorrow and it wouldn't be a...

    New toy Rossi R95

Nice rifle. I like the wood. Not fancy hardwood but a solid looking grain. Looks where there would ordinarily be in line checkering they made a gripper grip instead. That's kinda neat. I like Rossis. They are becoming more mainstream as a purposeful rifle.

    knives made from files

I didn't want to hijack my own thread when @Jonny2guns displayed his knife that @hso identified as being made by Anzas. I looked at their website and they do make some beautiful knives. I notice one that appeared to be made from a farrier's rasp. I guess they make a lot of theirs from old...

    Visited the Buck Knife Factory

On the way to my mother-in -law's home in Spokane I like to take a stop at the Buck Knife factory in Post Falls, Idaho just down the road. I haven't yet takene was a tour but that is definitely on my to-do list. But they have a store there where they display all their different knives and...

    Marlin 1894 SBL

@ECVMatt I believe that the pic you posted is of a 1895 45-70 SBL and that got me confused. I got a 1895 Trapper in 45-70. I don't believe that Ruger has made any 1894s in stainless. But I did pick up an 1894 44 mag. Probably more properly called a short rifle. Here it is.
